Default 2020 Under-19 World Cup FINAL | Bangladesh vs India

Here's the match thread. Best wishes to the boys win or lose. Won't be easy, but a win is achievable if we play to our abilities, and get a little luck to go our way.

Boys will be under massive pressure given how often we choke against India.

But I am assuming we lose, so I'm just going to enjoy the game for what it is. Congrats on making the Final boys.

And yes, BD made an ICC final before Afghanistan. Thank God for that, haha.

Even if they lose, they still did very well. Very mature team. Hopefully most of them joins the national side.

I guess we will field the same XI we fielded against Pak - a third pacer in Avishek Das, in place of Hasan Murad.

Mourad has been playing really well tho. Mritunjoy couldn't find any other time to get injured.

Over the last 18 months we've played well and had the 2nd most number of wins and the 2nd best w/l ratio. This team has achieved what they set out to do, that is reach the final for the first time. Anything else is a bonus.

Any chance we had of beating India disappeared when we lost Mrittunjoy Chowdhury due to injury. He's been our best bowler and took 3-18 against them in the Asia cup final. I would be tempted to go in with 3 pacers against India instead of Hasan Murad or Shamim. Indian middle order hasn't been tested in the world cup so far, their bulk of runs have come from the openers.

I just hope we put up a fight in the final. It would be a shame if we got bowled out for 90, then haters will say we didn't deserve to reach the final.

Thunderstorm in forecast, don't think it will be a full length match. Also, most likely it will be worth to have that third pacer in the team.

Shamim had done well in Asia Cup final, he adds lots of value as an allrounder. So, most likely Murad will be benched.

IMO, Avishek should open with Shoriful. Shakib has been lacking control in this tournament, it will be better for him to be the first change.

Just saw an interview of Nabil and one of the question was how they plan to celebrate if they won the WC.

He said everyone's dream in the squad is to win the WC for their nation first before dreaming of being a superstar and that anyone who dreams the opposite will not go far. This is why our morons dont last long because once they reach superstar status, fade quicker than a match because being a superstar was their goal. Nabil emphasized patriotism and winning something for their country first.

Was very impressed by his interview and given me a renewed hope in the next generation of players.

Toss will be critical, you would not want to bat after the morning shower.

Great! Akbar won the toss and elected to bowl first. Avishek in for Murad.

This is why I love this under 19 team. Not a single wrong decision taken yet.

I like this India team to be honest - a team made of village/small town boys, all seem pretty humble.
