What's also insane is that he's only played 10 ODIs in 2 years. The same number as Naeem.

Yup he did had a SR of 60 beginning of his career, but avg was around 40-50. Shak has bough his career SR to mid 70's now.

Same goes for Mushy but his avg was worse than Ash, which is why his career avg is only 28 and career SR <70, which of course doesn't show how talented and skilful batsman he is nowadays. Tamim had poorer start to is career out of these 3 but made up after the 07 WC but SR started drop again in recent years.

Now if you compare their stats with Bijoy, Mominul and Shamsur, these three are doing a lot better at same stage of their career as Shak, Tamim and Mushy in both avg and SR wise yet ppl aren't happy with them. How time has changed?

T20 squad is a mess. Razzak and Gazi ahead of Sunny? Riyad and Reza gets drop from Asia cup but in for T20 WC? Faruk is a complete joke.

Anyway, from the squad, i think this will make the best XI:

1) Tamim
2) Anamul
3) Shakib
4) Mushy
5) Mominul
6) Nasir
7) Shabbir
8) need a bowler here who can bat a bit (Gazi injured) so i guess Riyad/Reza will be picked since Jia is not there.
9) Al-Amin
10) Lalla (no other choice)
11) Mash (No other choices)
12th man: Kopa Shamsu

We are missing out big time by not selecting Arafat Sunny and Ziaur Rahman for T20(the format where they are likely to excel best) world cup.

I do not understand we always select players for the wrong format: Naeem is ideal for tests and he is still ignored for tests. Now based on his recent ODI innings, everyone will write him off

I personally was so excited about the Asia cup( less excited after losing odi series to Srl)
T20 is just entertainment, its not a format where a team can show how improved they are or show they are no longer minnow.
After a poor Asia cup the T20 cup will bring us more embarassing moments, hope I'm wrong.

Agree. Not much strategy is involved with T20. Get a bunch of guys who can hit and you can win any game. But I might be overly simplifying it. If anyone can detail strategies involved with T20, please share.

Why Mushy and coach did not pic Sunny against Pakistan?
Why Mushy did not use Zia as a bowler?

This has been a hard time for me as a BD fan but honestly, I shouldn't be surprised. These results have shown we're still not a good team yet, hence we're losing these close matches and losing to Afghanistan. Good teams beat the teams they are supposed to and also win regularly against other good teams. Sadly we're not at that stage and it's the reason why we're not Pakistan, India or Sri Lanka yet.

I realize now that it'll take a while before start moving up the ranks. Our batting looks promising. Tamim, Mushy and Shakib have been the core of our batting for awhile. Nasir has been a good find even though he's going through a rough stretch but I have confidence that he'll be back. Anamul and Mominul seem to be good prospects. They're still raw but still you have to like what we see in them.

Bowling on the other hand, we got a long ways to go. Shakib has been our only quality bowler for a long time. I have hopes Gazi can turn it around and is just going through a rough patch. Why don't we play Robiul in ODI's? I think he's a quality bowler who needs to be in our plans for the ODI team.

Nasir hossain has lost the plot. His lost it, his lost it, his lost it. Plz drop him and dont play him in the world t20 first match cause he is totally out of form. Nasir needs a break. Nasir has looked out of sorts for about 10 LOI-matches now. Today was a good chance for him but failed again.
