Bangladesh Tour of Sri Lanka July 2019
Bd will tour Sri Lanka at the end of this month for 3 one day matches. The schedule is
1st odi July 25
2nd odi July 27
3rd odi July 29
What would be your 15 to 16 man squad for this series. I hope Mashrafe Tamim Riad and Soumya are dropped from the squad. Shakib should be captain. Taskin should come back in the squad since he got a hat trick last time
My 15 man squad
1) Miraz
2) Mithun
3) Shakib(captain)
4) Mushfiqur
5) Liton(wk)
6) Mossadek
7) Sabbir
8) Saiffudin
9) Abu Jayed
10) Taskin
11) Mustafizur extras: Rubel, Nayeem Hasan,Yasir Ali Nasir Hossain and one leg spinner. This is best team. We don't need Soumya b/c he is a selfish player. He is more of a 20 to 30 run player than a 60 to 70 run player. Nasir is a must due to his fielding ability. If we can't find a leg spinner than bring back Soumya to balance the bowling.

Nothing will change. Despite our worst world cup ever (in terms of expectations), I would still forgive them if they started afresh. But will they? No.
Anyway, here is my team for SL.
Soumya
Liton
Shakib (c)
Mushfiqur
Yasir
Mossadek
Nurul (wk)
Saifuddin
Mustafiz
Nayeem
Rubel
12. Taskin
13. Apu
14. Afif

I would keep Mehedi Hasan Miraz. Rubel is a 50/50 call for me. probably the worst death bowler in the world right now.

^ Saifuddin and M'Fizz are for the death and opening. Rubel for the middle overs.
I completely forgot about Miraz. That tells you all about his impact. He did very well against Pak though after being dropped in the previous match. Maybe drop him from time to time, and bring him back.
But all this is daydreaming.
The same team that lost the last two matches will be fielded in Sri Lanka.

Thank you for your generosity to let at least one Hindu player (Liton) in the team.
And yeah, a Diva like Nasir is a must in the team, Sabbir alone is not enough

In terms of body size and shape, Yasir Ali can be compared to Rohit. Time will tell if he will bat like Rohit too

Definitely try some new guys like yasir ali and afif. Also if shakib needs a rest he deserves it, he said he was mentally exhausted.
Also no more mash.

You mean the B-team that playing against AFG A-team? No, he's not there. Yasir is in the A-team alongside Momin, Shadman, Taskin, Rahi, etc, preparing to play in a pre-Ranji tournament in Karnataka.
BCB preferred the A-team to take on players trialing for their State Ranji teams (majority of who still have not played an FC match), instead of the Afghan team made of their Test and fringe ODI players.

Didn't the BCB cancel this series due to security concerns even though NZ are touring SL???

Shakib asked for a break, Liton needs time off for his wedding ceremony, Riyad may not recover fully before the series.
BCB will let Rhodes continue for the series, but he will be under observation.

Tamim is won’t be dropped and shouldn’t based on his form since 15 to before wc 19. But he has to improve his SR to minimum 85. But Tamim take a rest for this series.
We have to try few new pacers in ODI.

Luckily this series will come soon after wc, in quick time, so they have a chance to redeem themselves somewhat by winning a first ever ODI series against Sri lanka at the Lions den.
Can the Bengla Tigers do it?
Lions v Tigers. Should be a cracker of a series.

Shakib does not want to play this series since he stated that he is exhausted after playing in the world cup. Liton will not play either b/c he is getting married on July 28 2019.

you mean perfect opportunity to deflect criticism, get fans to forget the crapfest of a performance and venerate them as heroes again?
Now that there's no pressure, fully expecting Tamim to score a 100 and then do his trademark "talk now" gesture to the fans.

Winning a ODI series in Sri Lanka will always be good. Not that BD won much outside BD. So this series win can least can bring something good.
WC is gone now. Now point thinking about it. Now need to move forward. This series is a must win. If they lose then there needs to be major rethink.

We bemoaned left and right that rain washout against SL was a lucky escape for SL.
This series is a golden opportunity to prove that claim right by winning our first series in SL

you are absolutely right, WC is gone and we do need to move forward.
BUT there is a problem here, WC showed our team's major flaws. two of the main flaws are
1. Bowling(no pace bowlers whatsoever)
2. Tamim's 90s batting
now if we win the SL series with above two handicaps, Everything will be forgotten as if everything is find and dandy. Nothing will change, we will keep on caring trundlers and tamim will keep on batting like 90s shakira. And 4 years later in 2023 you will see a repeat of the 2019 WC

^^ After their WC debacles, India and Eng started everything with a vision. For us, we never had any vision as a nation. We are always happy with kaj chole jora-tali.

How can you move forward when you are stuck with tamim- as opener, mushfuk as keeper, and riad as finisher?
Need backup guys, backups like safuidin
