Like other Polynesian people, Māori cooked food in earth ovens, known in New Zealand as hāngi- Wikipedia
VS
Bengali cuisine would not be complete without Shutki ( dry fish), especially Shutki Bhorta.
The Basin Reserve from space:

Current situation: New format, new skipper, new players, new type of wicket.
Mushfiqur and his men will be looking forward to their first win of this tour when they tackle the Black Caps in the first test match at the Basin Reserve in Wellington.
Making the right decisions and playing good quality of cricket should open the door for Bangladesh to push the Kiwis all the way. The Kiwis are a tough opposition at home, recent records have shown that; even when down, they have that fight in them to deliver a backlash. Bangladesh should be mindful of that.
In the last 2 years, there have been 10 tests played in New Zealand of which the hosts have won 7 and lost two. Those two defeats have come at the hands of their neighbor across the Tasman Sea. So this isn’t going to be a normal match for Bangladesh; they have to play tough cricket.
Tests played in NZ in the last 2 years:
TEAM | SPAN | Mat | Won
| Lost | Tied | Draw |
---|
New Zealand | 2014-2016 | 10 | 7 | 2 | 0 | 1 | Australia | 2016-2016 | 2 | 2 | 0 | 0 | 0 | India | 2014-2014 | 2 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 1 | Pakistan | 2016-2016 | 2 | 0 | 2 | 0 | 0 | Sri Lanka | 2015-2015 | 4 | 0 | 4 | 0 | 0 |
So if Bangladesh manage to pull off a win, it will be monumental; only team from sub-continent with a win in NZ in over 2 years.
Taskin set to make his debut, and also lead the pace attack.
New Zealand have not declared any news yet of who's gonna play or debut. Jeet Raval and Grandhomme are expected to play after an excellent debut series for both of them against the Pakistanis late last year.
More news to follow./

Oh, one more thing, the match starts at 04:00 Dhaka time...
The optimist in me is saying a Bangladesh win, while my pessimistic side is urging me to yell, 'DRAW!!'
May the better team win.
Go Tigerrrsssss!!!!!!

^^Well everyone have their own preferences...This is the second match thread I made that opened with food...
So, I was curious to find something that many of our posters can relate to... I think food is a medium to have good conversations
But we are here for the cricket, most important thing.

My XI
1) Tamim Iqbal
2) Soumya Sarkar
3) Mominul Haque
4) Mushfiqur Rahim (C & WK)
5) Mahmudullah
6) Shakib Al Hasan
7) Sabbir Rahman
8) Mehedi Hasan Miraz
9) Rubel Hossain
10) Taskin Ahmed
11) Subashis Roy
Not our best bowling line up for test, best I could come up with.
Looks like a ODI team, no one really specialised in test except Mominul.

Miraz might be a surprise with the bat down the order. That tail is too long, Sabbir is relatively new to test cricket.
Most teams usually send their wicket-keeper down the order to bat...After coming back from injury, I think that it would be rise to push him(Mushfiqur) down./

be careful what you say about Shakib, remember his the senior member
he doesn't like others to tell him what he should do.. don't blame him..
Sabbir is a youngster, if Shakib doesn't perform..blame should go to the youngsters

my X11
Tamim
Somaya
Mominul
Musfiq
Riad
Sabbir
Sakib
Miraz
Taskin
Roy
Rubel
Definitely Kaye's can go for fishing. Because one of slip catch miss from him, it will give nz 100 more runs to add up.. better somaya play will catch some fish, will do little batting, might handy with loops bowling. Sakib will bat no. 7 period.. he's a bowler, should act like it. I need musfiqs angry attitude .. yell every one who's on the honeymoon mood at the field. Enough with the mashrafe cha cha vhatiza politics at the ground.

He should be lucky that I'm vouching for him to be in the best shape possible, it's high time that he should play the mentor role and bat with the boys down the order.

Kayes deserves his spot over Soumya. I'm also more inclined to give Mossadek, the FC specialist, a spot but not sure over who. Imagine if he turns out to be another Mominul, but speaking of which we're yet to see how Mominul does outside the SC.

You want him to play the mentor role? when he blames the youngster for bad team performance?
Didn't you read the article? when HC said that seniors didn't perform as expected? and he (shakib) responded by saying HC can't blame the seniors alone, should also blame the juniors? the juniors that had like 2-4 ODI games under their belt .. and you want him to take the mentor role?

When he came to West Indies in that dreaded year of 2014, he actually played well, but not too well...made two half centuries, Ian Bishop and Jeffrey Dujon liked him.

Mosaddek not in the test squad. so no chance for him.
I wouldn't personally include him in the XI, has issues with the moving ball...
Plus.. from what I have read... seems like it will be swinging... and we will be

Yes!
Haven't you read the opening statement of this thread?
New format, new players, etc...the theme is 'new'

Politics with fizz, this is embarrassing from Bd players.. with fizz u might have chance to win some matches in 2017. He's a gifted bowler, so be easy with him. I'm sure there is some reason that he don't wants to play test.. why he wants to save him self, ipl? So there is lot going on now in the team... especially papon said yesterday, if he's not 100% fit, he won't be allowed to play ipl...I think it's a good move by Bcb... 2017 will be busiest year for BD's history. So we need mustafiz support each and every matches .. he can play ipl 2018.

Define worse in this context?
NZ 1000 runs in a inning?
Grandhomme hattrick?
At least 6 drop catches?
Skittled out for less than 100(Souyma carrying his bat)?

Everyone in our team has issues with the moving ball, that isn't a good excuse. Kayes and Soumya would be the worst players of the moving ball.

I saw the news today, Bangladesh is going to play another tri series along with Sa , Ind, or aus. Not sure yet which two team, but papon told them yes , Bd will join the series. This series will effect after the champions trophy. So lot more cricket coming up.
