His Innings of 190 in Sri Lanka in 2013 (although a completely dead pitch) gave me a lot of hope, that innings personified (specially coming from him a whole new level of maturity).

Than what happens? He gets banned soon after.

He should stay light years away from the ODI team. Test and maybe just maybe T20 team he may be considered.

I don't think i will ever pick him for ODI even if he scores back to back centuries in domestic cricket. The ODI ship has sailed for him a while back.

You guys can hate him as much as you want, you guys can disbelieve his potential all you want, you guys can be unforgiving as much as you want, but one thing you cannot deny:

Very soon when he will play for BCL next month, ONLY reason ALL of you, yes YOU, will show up and follow this crappy league of yours lol, is because of this dude.

That's Ash for you.

Quote:
Ashraful, whose suspension ended yesterday, awaits a certificate of good conduct from the ICC. Once the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) receives that certificate, he will be able to take part in tournaments organised within the jurisdiction of the BCB except for the Bangladesh Premier League, the board's CEO Nizamuddin Chowhdury informed reporters yesterday.

The 32-year-old former national cricketer who returned home from America yesterday afternoon said that he had been ' waiting for this day' for a long time.

“I really want to play in the BCL. If a team decides to pick me, then good, or else I will have to keep waiting. My fitness is not a concern. For the last three years, I have done everything that a cricketer needs to do in order to be fit. I have waited for this day for three years and at the back of my mind I always told myself that I wouldn't let my return get further delayed due to fitness issues,” Ashraful told The Daily Star yesterday.

“Recently in America, I ran for 14 kilometers and I didn't have any problem. So playing longer version cricket will not be an issue for me. I am 32 right now, but my age won't be a barrier for my return. There are players like Misbah who are excelling even now. It's not the same in Bangladesh, but I am ready to take up this challenge,” he added.

Ashraful will not be eligible for international selection until 2018 but he does not seem to be worried currently about that aspect.

To Reiterate, T20 and Tests only, He should be nowhere near the ODI team.

I think he would be a great installment in our T20 set up.

Only in T20 he's average seems to be better than some of our top order batsmen.

However no thanks good bye to Ash for Test and ODIs. He gave us great ride. It was deadly zigzag driving but still fun memories. Best of luck Ash (go catch em all).

Ashraful is leading National Club Cup champion Syedpur Cricket Club in tour of Malaysia, in two one-days and a T20 against Malaysian Air Force.

We go back from where we all came from. May the Lord bless Ashraful's beloved father's departed soul. May he rest in eternal peace.

Ashraful, you are an exceptionally gifted and skilled athlete/cricketer - your father will always be very proud.
