If he plays ODI's he should open with Tamim and test his "luck". He's still one of the handfil of batsmen who can take advantage of the early PP restrictions.

Poor Ash. 2 back-back shitty decisions after setting up solid innings. Looked good in both of them. I guess the nature does not like a consistant Ashraful.

Good job today, should have given the umpire a piece of his mind on his way back.

I think he is the best choice for both ODI and T20 to open with TIK. in test, i would love to see him in number 3/4. he is showing eagerness to stay in the crease and i think its a good sign for bd cricket.

It was a good knock he played today. He's had a decent tour by his standards. He's still got a lot to prove though, but a consistent Ash would be massive for Bangladesh. Hope he continues the good work.

Keep your expectations in control and extra expectation shouldn't breed criticisms with his technique.... He is ok with that technique Infact Way ahead of most BD players... Only problem was with consistency, now he should be consistently scoring, if he can do that, that's enough I guess.

Good series and he should be doing the same or better in Zim series.... That's the expectation...

Today, he wasn't that hesitant, he was that Ashraful of Cardiff...wish they had some better umpires for the series.

I'm so sad, really wanted Ash to carry on!
No point giving peace of his mind to the ump on his way back. Like everything going against us, Ash could have been fined for trash talking. Nothing ever goes in our favor.

ash is at his most destructive when he's allowed to just throw the bat, the problem with that is he doesn't censor which balls he throws his bat at so he goes after ones he shouldn't too often and then he gets out in a silly fashion. what was good in the test series is for most of his 190 he was able to curb that natural instinct of chucking his bat at everything and he still managed to play a huge innings at a good nick without really giving chances.

i don't know what was different about that 190 but more of that, more of taking 1s and 2s and hitting the bad balls rather than trying to hit everything. he had a lot of trouble in the siddons era when he was told to curb his natural instinct but maybe it's starting to pay off.

but certainly needs to be consistent otherwise get him out. he's been playing 13 years now, he's in his prime age, he's a senior player of the side both with age and experience so he can't just hang out and average mid to low 20s anymore, he needs to keep increasing that average.

1 of the most satisfying things about this series was the fact that Ash finally looked somewhat consistent. Still has some ways to go before he proves he can be a long term option for the top order but he's moving in the right direction.

Well done to Ash - a great series, a great come back. He looked truely a different cricketer this time around. So much confidence. Please keep it up and see you in Harare.

I think that 190 gave him a lot of confidence! That's what he really needs. Once he has confidence he is pretty much unstoppable.

Missed the game, but looks like Ash was in sublime touch. Too bad he got shafted though.

Let's see if he can survive in the ODI + Test + T20 team until the end of 2013? Then I will say Ash iz back.

Is asking to score consistently an extra expectation? If so one should not play in the national team. We dont criticise him out of our extra expectation we do when he fails miserably. Its same for everyone. If one can't score consistently i will raise questions about his technique. Now technique doesnt only mean playing shots correctly, it includes lot of other things such as ability to survive long time, not premeditating shots, not losing concentration and choosing right shots for the right kind of deliveries. The fact that no one else is good doesnt make him good enough.

i think what you are referring is application not technique. lots of our player lack application and they throws out their wicket at wrong time. they do not know how to apply them to the situation. may be sir ash is the best example but he is not far ahead of Tamim or other players. i think its just in our blood, we always take hasty moves

on the other note, i feel technically ash is the best we have.

agree brother. i think he plays best when he does not feel pressure to perform and stay in the team type situation. both ash and tamim should be given license to play as their own instinct. they will fail and shine but at the end it will be better for BD team if they flourish runs in ODI and T20 format.

For a change, i wasn't angry with Ash for his out ! He was unlucky, victim of biased SL umpires.
