Unfortunate to miss out on the double but a great knock nonetheless. His biggest Test awaits. Can he score runs in the remainder of the series or will he rest on his laurels.

Mohammad Ashraful will have a prolific series against Sri Lanka and then to his routine job. Lets hope not!

Alhamdulilah. MashAllah.
Congrats Mohammad Ashraful on your test knock of 190.

I hope and pray, this knock (of 190runs) will kick start Ashrafuls career and he'll show his full potential as an batsman.

yes nerves, mushy got nervous to. an in all a very good innings from ash, he only played a handful of rash shots. i think when ash gets nervous he tries to hit out, it didn't pay off for him this time. he had a fielder close to him and he didn't like being crowded so he tried to hit out and get rid of the fielder, the result of it was his wicket.

Bit harsh on Ash. He did NOT play a HANDFUL of rash shots. He played 3 maybe 4. Out of 417 balls faced. And the first one didn't come until he had already cross triple digits. And it wasn't even that bad an attempt. His second was that reverse sweep attempt to start the day and the last was his worst and it got him out.

Mushy too played around 2 false strokes in his innings.

But both men, hardly edged any deliveries, or took risks, didn't offer chances, and didn't even have appeals while they were batting. That is remarkable given the runs they scored and how long they batted. Even the great Tendulkar requires 1 dropped catch, 3 or 4 edges, and 1 no call from the umpires to reach 100, on average. For Mush and Ash to score doubles without any of that is a testament to their technique and class - which isn't any less than any of the best batsman going around.

Ashrafuls test Average moved from 22.60 to 24.36.

If he can play like this, very soon his average will move to 30s inshallah.

I wish Ashraful to repay all deficits before he retires, that means a good average in both ODI and Tests.

That's wonderful. I hope he'll be able to reach that 30 average.

We are setting such low standards for Ash.

Ashraful you better hit the 50 mark.

Looked clueless in the 2nd innings, beggars belief. Almost perfect innings followed by clueless innings straightaway? I hope it's not Ash 1.0 all over again.

ash can't have a 50 average in test match now for that he needs to play a lot of test and score consistently on every match. we have very few test matches as per the ICC tour schedule.

but he must try to improve his average to 30 first and then target 40 he is the top most run scorer in our first class arena. so definitely he can improve on his averages now.

Well said Gowza. We must always look at the positives, there was too much negativity around Ash, some people were even saying that he should not even be in the team.
He is still my favourite, no matter what!

I beg to differ although I always fear he will go back to his inconsistent ways, I felt like even in the second innings he was trying to settle down, get his eye in, not give his wicket away.

However what raises my hope that this just might be a new start for Ash is th fact that he now tries to rotate the strike a lot more and doesn't just defend or just attack.

It's always been a dream of mine to see a consistent Ash along with Shakib, Tamim; Mushfique, Nasir and Mominul/mahamudullah Bangladesh will have one of the best batting line-ups in the world.

I am pleased with his second innings approach he seems different Ashraful then what we used to know. He was trying to play calm, controlled and determined enough to finish this day off.

I watched him play the 2nd innings and did not look clueless.
I am not sure if we were watching the same game.
Being biased and then judgmental at the same time is not a good thing!
