Great way to demotivate the players for BPL
The NZ tour, will start in 50 days. Yes brothers 50 days, and our magnificent board has already decided upon the set of players who will be taking the flight to Sydney and then Australia.
With the BPL just starting, there were a lot of things the local players had to look forward to. They wanted to show their mantle. The fringe players had the oppurtunity to prove their point in the tournament. They knew a good performance here would improve their hopes to don the Bangladesh jersey.
So BPL is about to start, all the fringe players: Anamul, Litton, Alauddin, Nafees, Rubel, Al Amin were fired about inside and prove a point to the selectors. But at that very moment, the selection committee decides to select the preliminary team already. All these players, who were looking to return to the national side, has their hearts shattered. They lose their motivation and even if they perform well in BPL they know very well they will not be considered for the national side soon.
And fringe players are the players who truly light up the BPL. We don't look forward to seeing Taskin, Tamim, Riad, Mushy in BPL. We want to see the Littons, the Mosaddeks, the Abu Jayeds, the Anamuls. Anamul in his youth has scored 3 centuries against non-minnow teams, that is more than what Shakib, Riad, Mushy has been able to do in their ODI careers. Nafees has been averaging 65 in domestics over a 2 year period. Al Amin has much better stats than our bowling-legend Mashrafe had in his early days(he is a great leader though won't deny). Now, with these players lacking motivation, not only we will see them underperform, but we will also have a mediocre BPL.
I think Haturisinghe is a rubbish coach. I said I "think" and that means present. Under Haturi we may have developed the habit of winning but we did not unearth match-winners. Sorry, Miraz wasn't Haturi's product, neither was Shakib, Tamim, Mushy, Mash, Fizz. Haturi's products were Jubair, Mithun, Soumya and we know how well that is going.
