Default Ind Batting vs Bd bowling?

There are only 4 active batsmen who has scored 300+. Azhar 302*(469), Younis 313(568), Amla 311*(529), and Nair 303*(381). (I am just at awe to see the SR)

Indian batting lineup is so strong and complete, most likely they will leave Nair out of the line up (I hope they do). We can't even imagine doing something similar like this in our dreams.

No apparent weakness in the line up. Murali Vijay-K Rahul opening pair. They haven't stringed big partnership yet but individually both have established their position. Then comes Pujara (The end). Next up Virat. Rahane trying to prove his inclusion after his injury. Middle order could have Nair or J Yadav, Saha and Ashwin. Tail can also swing the bat with jadeja, Yadav. That batting lineup is very deep. Ishant is not a batsman. Most likely he wouldn't have to bat in this test.

From Ashwin's comment, The pitch may have some juicy bounce. That suites his game. What about our Bowling attack? Can we muster some miracle?

Is Miraz our answer? Our quicks will have one duty that is to take the shine off. Shakib again becomes the main guy. I would hope they get another spinner in the lineup. Taijul will be tested.

+++
With that, I ask you guys how many wickets are we going to take? 5? 10? 15?

20 Wickets it will be.

In this match, all 40 wickets will fall.

I'll be ecstatic with 15 wickets. If its a dead flat track 12 would be an achievement.

Im more worried about our batting. That is our strength and experience...it needs to put in a good show.

Bowlers, even if they get carted, Miraz-Taskin-Rabbi have only 10 caps between them. Not an excuse, just facts.

If India loses more than 12 wickets, I'd chalk that up as a big win by BD. Ditto if the game enters the 5th day.

If the pitch has bounce it will help the pacers, that will suit taskin and rabbi so that would help.

I think a lot hinges on miraz or Taijul they need to take wickets and keep things tight, same with shakib.

I think miraz is the one that will be the difference maker depending on whether he has a good game or not.

The run out didn't happen. So we have only 3 wickets to show for. May be tomorrow morning will be a better day for us. The team needs to regroup, refocus, start from zero.

Your another potential future thread: Ind fielding vs Bd fielding?
Bhai, otao akash-patal parthokho.

I like my bowlers. Taskin, Rabbi, Taijul, Shakib, Mehedi I think they did great, especially the 1st day (). If India gets BD wickets, it's not due to the superb delivery. It's due to our batsmen's self-destructive mode. India scored big not because that their batsmen are good (which they are), but due to our paaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaatheeeeeeeeeeeeeetic fielding. Our bowlers created chances after chances, our fielders were in competition on what are the different ways to drop/miss them.

Fielding is set by the captain or bowler?

The moment the ball went by Shakib (second slip), my wife who don't follow cricket much, said, why don't they put one fielder there NOW?

Lord behold, another one goes there begging in few balls. She turned off the TV. It was past bed time anyways. Kept me awake till 2am fuming and cussing. Finally I left for the guest room.

When the ball was turning, Indian batsmen looked quite troubled vs Miraz and Taijul. Taijul did very well given how dead the track was 95% of the time. Miraz also bowled decently...just needs cut the short stuff. Taskin was good until.he started bowling short as well...probably got a bit.fatigued as his pace dropped slightly.

If you want to see real pace bowlers, and not rookies who blow their wad after bowling a couple of good overs. Pay attention to Umesh Yadav's bowling

You're making it sound like as if Umesh Yadavs pace is the best thing since sliced bread

We've seen plenty. Don't worry. And our batsmen have faced the Pakistani fast bowlers and NZ 150kph man Ferguson recently.

687/6 Declared in 166 overs.

Anyone reading your comment not knowing the score, would think 300-400 allout 120 overs.

He bowled a great spell. But it was just 1 spell. Lets not forget Taskin bowled at least 2 good spells. We are comparing a 28 yo bowler who is in the prime of his career with a 21.yo kid who is still a couple years away from his prime.

A rookie getting tonked can always be explained and excused...3rd first class match in 4 years, etc.

Good. You are learning and showing signs of improvement. Maybe the "rookie" can do the same in the future.

There's always something to learn...especially for those who reflect.
