AB DeVilliers is the kind of guy you DON'T bring over to meet your parents. I mean imagine the conversation. "Ammu I did X". "Well AB did X^2" would be her retort!

Astounding. Where is windiefan with his ad nauseum talk of needing pacers overseas blah blah...his boys have now been twice pounded by Corey Anderson and now de Villiers.

Even our bowlers haven't helped break Afridi's record.

In batting - Amla, de Kock, AB De Villiers, Faf Du Plessis, David Miller, JP Duminy
In bowling - Steyn, Morkel, Philander, Tahir

If SA doesn't win the WC then it will be a big disappointment. They have the absolute beast of a team. Any of the batsmen and bowler can change the game in an instant.

^ They had MUCH better batting line up w/ Kallis and Smith and same if not better bowling attack (but younger, fresher) but they didn't win then last time. 07, they ranked no. 1 going in, but choked out. This time it's not gonna be different and that's because they themselves play into this stupid tag so much. They let it get into their heads.

^ In 2011 the subcontinental pitch weren't too friendly for Steyn and Co. But I think they will wreak havoc in AUS/NZ. Amla, ABDV, Faf are getting into groove and de Kock, Miller are rising stars and JP Duminy is reliable as ever.

In 2007, Ash's 87 crushed their ego and they eventually lost. It was Ash alone who brought the favorites to its knees

He's losing his hair and he's only 30, so he can't have everything.

I walk out there knowing how I want to play my innings but it's very rare I walk out there thinking I am going to go at 200 strike rate from ball one. Today was one of those games and still, I needed a lot of luck to bat the way I did," he said.

These videos are not exactly related but they are very inspirational. I wish our players think the same way when they represent our country. RESPECT!

South Africa will choke once again. They always have a world class team but can never seal the deal. Despite the subcontinent condition in 2011 world cup, they played really well in the group stages. They were the only team to beat India in the world cup and they had to do it by chasing almost 300 runs.

^ This group seems different. In the past they had players with good skill sets, but Kallis was getting old and ABD and Amla weren't this good yet. Also there were several teams that were very good in subcon conditions. This tournament will shift to bouncy pitches post quarterfinals, and you need balanced teams to contend in these conditions. So Aus and NZ are realistically the only two teams that can pose threat to SA. An experienced ABD and Amla bring a new dimension to the team that they never had before - pure confidence and ability to take risk without fear of losing. If De Kock is truly fit and in decent form, I think they have a very good shot at winning it all.

Guys don't forget South Africa lost to Australia 4-1 in a very recent ODI series in Australia. Yes they're a very good team on paper but let's not forget that this is Australia's home turf we're talking about. Even though I have SA as one of the only 2 top contenders to win the Cup, I still have Australia as the favorite.

Best part of AB De Villiers:

De Villiers holds himself more accountable than many other captains. If a defeat is caused by batting lapses, de Villiers picks out his own wicket as the one that should not have fallen first. If the defeat is caused by bowling lapses, de Villiers identifies his own management of the pack as the reason.

His understanding of leadership is based on selflessness. If the team underperforms, it is his fault. If they succeed, it the credit is shared. He will cite this innings as another example of that.

I believed that AB read that letter by Martin Crowe. After an abysmal performance against India, they were on the back foot against the WI early on. West indies were pumped up after Gayle's bullying against Zimbabwe. But the AB had other answers for the WI camp. I strongly feel that Ab will be the first to score 200 while successfully chasing down a target of mammoth proportions.

AB doesn't need any letter or chirkut, it is normal that no matter how good you are you will have one or two or three off days , a big score is always coming from him, as he recently played WI it helped even more.
