This IPL seems so blah, except Shakib I do not see anything that might interest me. Even most skillful T20 batters and pacers decided to abandon it, Maxwell, Finch, Stark etc.

This will be just practice sessions for emerging Ind players and WIndies professionals.

That 2 crore club just makes me laugh, what a waste!

NZ is leading by 23 runs with six wickets remaining. If they can achieve 150 runs lead, they are very likely to win this match.

Like the first test match of this series, this test will again prove that test match is won in the first innings 90% of the time. If you squander your chance to take substantial lead in the first innings, like PAK failed both in the first and third tests, you often set yourself up for defeat.

A slim chance for Riad, may be. Rest will be ignored.

This is the type of punch in the face useless coach like Haturi needs. Way to go Matthews

Quote:
In what was probably another dig at the decision to cut him from the ODI team in September, Angelo Mathews performed 10 push ups upon reaching an outstanding rearguard hundred in Wellington. He then flexed his biceps in the direction of the dressing room, from where coach Chandika Hathurusingha - who had been involved in the decision to drop him - was no doubt looking on.

Mathews had been axed as ODI captain then dropped from Sri Lanka's limited-overs teams entirely based on what Hathurusingha and the former selectors said were fitness grounds. Mathews had had several injury layoffs over the past two years, with his hamstrings and calves giving him particular trouble.

Following Mathews' omission from the limited-overs sides, Hathurusingha had also called into question Mathews' running between the wickets, describing the number of run outs he had been involved in a "world record".

In late September, Mathews had publicly given voice to the sense of betrayal he had felt at being suddenly cut from the limited-overs teams, and had carried that hurt through to his next international outing - the Tests against England last month. Through the course of that series, Mathews struck three fifties, and at least twice made a gesture toward the dressing room, pointing to his bat and making a yapping motion with his gloves, to signal that he was letting his bat do the talking.

The push-ups though, were the most colourful message yet. Mathews batted out testing spells on the third evening and all through day four, to finally reach triple figures off the 248th ball he faced. Having raised his bat, he immediately dropped to the ground, performed 10 quick push ups, got up, pointed to his head, then flexed a bicep. Partner Kusal Mendis, with whom he had put on Sri Lanka's biggest ever stand against New Zealand, watched on, grinning.
Mathews had also top-scored for Sri Lanka in the first innings, with 83. This was his first Test century in over a year.

It's only a matter of time HaThor will get fired or resign
This guy brings more troubles than solutions, funny that Srilankans picked him, they should have known him better.

They need someone who will nurture those upcoming talents. Haturi is anything but that. Sri Lanka is realizing it quickly than us though. Already removed him from selection panel. Also removed his buddy samaraweera from batting coach position.

So this is really happening, BBL started with this weird toss with bat.

Matthew Hayden does the first ever bat toss in the Big Bash League

Mujeeb made a record, as highest run getter in T20 at 11th position.

PCB to pay nearly USD 2 million to BCCI after losing legal dispute
Quote:
Having suffered the injury of a lost claim for damages from the BCCI, the PCB now has to face up to the added insult of paying the India board nearly USD 2 million in legal costs.

Last month, the PCB's attempt to claim USD 63 million from the BCCI for two bilateral series that did not take place in 2014 and 2015 was rejected by the ICC's Dispute Resolution Committee (DRC).

As is the norm in arbitration cases such as this, the winning party claims legal costs from the losing side, which the BCCI had done. Those claims were submitted a week after the decision.
Hope dumbos learned their lesson

Why did they had to switch to this bat tossing ? Are they running out of ideas for innovation? This is ridiculous

If the spuds that make up the upper echelons truly want to innovate, they should consider replacing the glorified wheelie bins (refer: umpires) with creations that can actually call no-balls when the bowler oversteps, adjudicate clear run-out calls as and when they happen, and think fast to cascade the lunch and tea breaks as and when necessary.

As it stands, even an Enrico lounging on the beach in Naples, Italy can gaily wave his arms around when the ball trickles past the rope, lift them high up in the air when it sails into the crowd, and stick a finger up when the wood goes clattering at the other end.

I think on the rare occasions we would toss the bat to choose sometimes when we were teenagers. But I personally prefer the coin toss.

http://www.espncricinfo.com/story/_/...million-really

LOL, is Shakib really a 2 crore INR player. He should have been paid at least 8 crore or more. This match just show how pathetic those IPL Team Managements are. Being good at some business does not mean you will be good at picking cricketing talents. Already IPL lost much of the gloss, this one will be enough take away everything that shines about it.

If I were Shakib I would have pulled out and make myself available again for teams to pick.
