so everybody got their answer regarding foreign players.
6 players can be registered. two can be played.
i think if we get a place into CHAMPIONS LEAGUE t 20.... we can then play 4 like IPL teams. also may be some squad strenthening can be done by adding one two players from other team on loan.

Hope we can get some decent foreign players, although most players from other nations are busy in IPL.It would be nice to have Afridi, Gul & Asif kinda players, rather than the Paki rejects playing mostly in PCL.

Land of Rivers: Team should be named after the rivers
Dhaka Buriganga
Sylhet Surma
Rajshahi Padma
Khulna Rupsha or Bhairab
Chittagong Kornaphuli
Barishal Kirtonkhola
Why not name them with the rivers associated with the cities?

BCB's poor marketing
http://www.thedailystar.net/newDesig...php?nid=132199
Quote:
BCB, as per usual practice, had floated tender for the title sponsor of the National Cricket League where T20 was the new addition for this year. But only one company came forward with a poor offer which forced BCB to go for a negotiation with ATN Records who got the marketing and broadcasting right as an event partner for one season, reportedly with a guarantee clause of Tk 50 lakh for the three different formats----four-day, one-day and T20.
The details of the deal were however never disclosed to the media. Without any doubt it's a poor amount of money considering the fact that the board has to pay around Tk 5 crore to arrange this tournament. The question has been however raised after it was disclosed that the T20 competition would adopt the franchise model and ATN Records was given the job to work on it.
It's hard to believe that an organisation, which loves to claim itself as a corporate house, like BCB does, has failed to understand the value of T20 tournament at the current time, especially when they have a very fresh memory of T20 Premier League Cricket that saw huge success in terms of spectators turn out and sponsorship interest.
"Actually we have very little time to work on it. True we may not be fully benefited but everything will be okay from next season," said Gazi Ashraf Hossain, BCB's director and chairman of the tournament committee.
The former national skipper also admitted that lack of professionals in the board was one of the main reasons behind its failure due to the absence of a strong professional marketing set-up headed by a CEO in true sense.
"You know there is no shortage of manpower in the marketing committee and yes, if we have a strong CEO (chief executive officer) then he can look after all the things to maximise benefit from this kind of tournament," confessed Ashraf.
Though he expressed his optimism for the future but no one can be assured when BCB can appoint a permanent CEO, a post which has been vacant for almost three years. Recently two professionals employed in the marketing committee have resigned, only to fuel the notion that professionals are not feeling comfortable to work in a place once regarded as a very lucrative place for them.
|
With this kind of professionalism, BCB have no right to criticize PCL authority!

What a smug!! Lipu. He is the Director AND Chairman of the tournament committee. He just wants to push the blame to someone else. But wait there is no one to take the blame. So he is making up imaginary CEO of BCB to blame. You are the director and chairman. You should be able to move mountain with that kind of power.

Higher ups of BCB are to busy doing other people's jobs rather than their own.

Most people will buy teams hoping to meet Sharukh Khan in the Champions League.

Mushfiq won't play because of university exam.
Naming of the teams -
Dhaka Damal
Cyclones of Chittagong
Knights of Khulna
Sultans of Sylhet
Rajshahi Rangers
Barisal Blazers
Beximco bought Dhaka team, IFIC Chittagong, NM Group Rajshahi, STS Group Khulna. A UK-Sylheti businessman is in negotiation with BCB to buy Sylhet team. Some sports organizers may jointly buy Barisal team.
Players auction is deferred to 5th April.

Hmm... nothing much to say about the names, although its a bit odd for Dhaka to only have a bangla name among the lot, and Rajshahi Rangers sounds a bit mellow as opposed to the blazers and cyclones and damals..
the group that bought Khulna, STS group... is that the owner of ISD school and Apollo hospital? i'll just google it....

According to Daily Inquilab, Mushfiqur Rahim has withdrawn his name from the auction since he will be taking exams during that time.

Nice and timely initiative by BCB, a rare case in our cricket history. Time for change.

$703,000,000 for an IPL team vs.
$100,000 for a NCL team
No wonder we (BCB) are ordinary.

Wrong! A single IPL team can spend only $5 million per season. What you posted of the valution of multiple IPL teams. A way to improve the situation in Bangladesh would be to merge the NCL20 with PCL and the other T20.
