A measure of greatness is being able to perform at do or die opportunities. If Ash was truly a great player, he would have performed in his last match. But he failed.

Ash was always jodi laigga jay type eid player. Which means, allow him to play 50 matches and he will produce one magic innings. This is not greatness. This is simply the law of probability.

Bangladesh cricket is past that jodi laigga jay age. Sorry Ash, your time is over.

Ashraful came to Sydney and played one game in the Bangladesh cricket tournament that I'm a part of here. I couldn't get pictures with him and I didn't play against him, but it was a great buzz in the tournament for having such a player playing in our comp.

There were even security guards escorting him around.

I was at the ground and watched the game, it was great seeing our local cricketers and comparing to how an ex international cricketer bats. You can clearly tell in terms of batting ability how he is a few levels ahead of us.

He scored 50* to guide his team to victory. Very sensible cricket :p

Locally in Sydney here the BD Cups are super competitive, and Ashraful's close friend who plays in our comp brought him down from Bangladesh.

Heh. Don't for a mistake think you haven't seen the scornful spiteful side of God.

The nerve of some people who think they are million pegs morally superior than others.

Edit: I write this mainly because of the posts he posts on FB - which shows he is an amazing, positive human being. Goes on to show, you can only know a person so far from your arm chair.

About 10 years ago, I briefly bowled to future USA national team player Mrunal Patel, who I went to medical school with. We were bowling on concrete, but I was amazed at how solid even a USA player's technique was. I could have bowled to him all day, and I don't think I would have induced a single false shot or beat his bat!

exactly how I felt as well watching Ashraful bat. He played quite a few lap sweeps which he made it look so easy to play, when in reality its not.

It would be a dream to have a net session with some of the Bangladeshi cricketers.

Well, on his day, Ashrafool used to be as good as tendulkar or any other greats with his natural ability to time the ball, eye pleasing shots and had all the talents & guts to take on any bowlers likes of McGrath, Bret lee, warne , murali etc

Btw is he not featuring in this year’s BPL?
