Default Something we fans may have forgotten!

A large part of our team is made up of players who were unfortunate enough to experience the Christchurch mosque massacre and they are expected to suffer from a certain degree of PTSD.

Yet this tournament and the tournament before, they have performed really well so I am proud of the boys. I am not completely satisfied but I just want to pat our lads on the back for making it this far.

I do not think we have performed 'really' well considering the experience the players have. We have beaten sides which we should have beaten. South Africa have been pathetic this world cup and our victory against them shouldn't be a surprise.

If we fail to beat Pakistan, this world cup campaign of ours should be termed as a failure IMO. This is our supposedly 'golden generation'. A bare minimum of a semi final place was the expectation for this world cup and it is a realistic one. With the quality of the current players in our bench, I do not have high hopes for the next two world cups, unless of course we unearth couple of Shakibs and Tamims from nowhere.

Agree. The three sides we have beaten:

SA - listless
WI - Whimsical, not serious
AFGA - poor throughout

SL/PAK both beat one of the big threes. We must beat PAK to call this WC a success by any measure.

Not to downplay the psychological trauma of NZ shooting tragedy but suddenly remembering it when our semi final exit is likely smacks of OJUHAT.

Absolutely. This is also a small portion of what they experience day to day lives from passing off loved ones, taking care of loved ones and families and children, etc etc.... added with practice, net sessions, strategies, coaching. So much happens behind-the-scenes.

Sometimes we as fans might just sit back and experience it detached rather than get too involved in it.

I am not giving excuses. And if we can't beat one of India or Pak we can say that our world cup was a failure.

But nonetheless, what I am saying is that we should atleast give a pat on the boys for performing well.

162/0 in 25 overs. Yeah give the boys a pat and a massage while you are at it. This is the sort of mentality which means we will never win a trophy.

In the past we gifted them flats, car and cash for winning useless matches. Thats why we are in this pathetic situation today.
