I am trying to be nice for him after the slack I recieved after downplaying him and how I rated Anamul more than Soumya, the Anamul that has scored double of what Soumya has scored.

But yeah, given Soumya's form, even a 20 run innings is exceptional. He was struggling to get off the mark in the beginning of the league and no need to mention what he did in the world T20 where we really needed an aggressive opener up top

the days of mercy is over mate...we got too many ppl performing at a stage where he isn't. Let him earn his way into the national slot

Yeah, he needs to perform in domestics if he wants a recall for our national side.

The fact that competition has increased makes it all much better, he will be working even harder, so will the others. No one is going to get anymore free tickets like Naeem, Ashraful, Da Rok, Riad(yes he was very ordinary pre 2013) and co. got in the past

বলের আঘাতে মাঠ ছাড়লেন সোহরাওয়ার্দী শুভ

ঢাকা প্রিমিয়ার লিগের ম্যাচে ব্যাটিংয়ের সময় তাসকিন আহমেদের বলে মাথার নিচের অংশে আঘাত পেয়ে মাঠ ছাড়তে হয়েছে সোহরাওয়ার্দী শুভকে।

মিরপুর শের-ই-বাংলা স্টেডিয়ামে শনিবার ভিক্টোরিয়ার বিপর্যয়ে নেমে ভালোই ব্যাট করছিলেন শুভ। আবাহনীর তাসকিন-আবুল হাসানের শর্ট বলগুলিও সামলেছেন অনায়াসেই। কিন্তু ২৫তম ওভারে এই দুর্ঘটনা।

তাসকিনের একটি শর্ট বল না খেলে ছেড়ে দিয়েছিলেন শুভ। কিন্তু বলটি প্রত্যাশিত উচ্চতায় না থেকে আসে অনেকটা নিচু হয়ে। বলে চোখ রেখে শুভও চেষ্টা করেছেন যতটা সম্ভব নিচু হতে; তবুও পারেননি এড়াতে। বল আঘাত করে হেলমেটের ঠিক নিচে তার ঘাড়ের ডানপাশে।

সঙ্গে সঙ্গে উইকেটে পড়ে যান শুভ। ছুটে আসেন সবাই। ছুটে যান ফিজিও। আবাহনীর ক্রিকেটাররা বাতাস করেন শুভকে। উইকেটে কিছুক্ষণ দেখে নেওয়ার পর স্ট্রেচারে করে মাঠের বাইরে আনা হয় শুভকে। এই অলরাউন্ডার তখন হাত দিয়ে ঢেকে রেখেছিলেন চোখ।

আঘাত কতটা গুরুতর, এখনও নিশ্চিত হওয়া যায়নি। তবে জ্ঞান হারাননি শুভ; কিছু প্রশ্নের উত্তরও দিতে পেরেছেন ঠিকঠাক। তবে মাথার পেছনে নিচের দিকে ঘাড়ের কাছে জায়গাটা খুব ঝুঁকিপূর্ণ বলেই শঙ্কা।

বিসিবির চিকিৎসক দেবাশিস চৌধুরী বিডিনিউজ টোয়েন্টিফোর ডটকমকে জানালেন, একটা ব্যাপার নিয়েই খানিকটা শঙ্কা আছে।

“এসব ক্ষেত্রে আমরা তাৎক্ষনিক ভাবে চারটি টেস্ট করি। এর মধ্যে শুভর ক্ষেত্রে তিনটির ফলই ভালো। একটাই শুধু একটু খারাপ। চোখে আলো ফেললে একটু নাড়াচাড়া বা রেসপন্স করার কথা, সেটা করছে না। আপাতত আর কিছু বলা যাচ্ছে না।”

বাইরে আনার পর বিসিবির চিকিৎসকের কক্ষে খানিকক্ষণ পর্যবেক্ষণ করা হয় শুভকে। এরপর জরুরি ভিত্তিতে নেওয়া হয় হাসপাতালে। নেওয়ার পথেই বিসিবির পক্ষ থেকে ফোন করে সব কিছু প্রস্তুত রাখা হয় হাসপাতালে। সেখানে সিটি স্ক্যানের পাশাপাশি করা হচ্ছে অন্যান্য পরীক্ষা।
