Thumbs down **Two-year Ban Looming for Andre Russell**

The West Indian missed 3 doping tests over a 12 month period. This constitutes a failed test under the doping laws.

Russell, who have been playing in T20 leagues all over the world, is part of the Windies World Cup squad. Depending on how fast this investigation will take place, he might be out of the squad.

Looks suspicious because whatever you do, you don't miss three schedules like that

Why would you miss 3 tests knowing the consequences? His own doing if he gets ban. Will lose millions. Free lancing would be done.

With all the money he's earning, he should have had an agent/manager to alert/advise him on important things like this. I hope he didn't missed it deliberately...if he does, then he should be further banned under regional rules from playing any cricket in any league. The temptress that is the $$$$ transforms many.

I would hazard he likes a toke or too ... Really foolish that his management team didn't keep this from happening.

A big cloud hangs over my head - Russell

Quote:
Andre Russell is praying and hoping that the independent anti-doping tribunal does not ban him for missing out on filing his whereabouts on three occasions in 2015. The three-member tribunal will deliver the verdict in Kingston on Tuesday.

If found guilty, Russell could face a maximum ban of up to two years under the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) rules. Missing three tests in 12-month period amounts to a failed dope test under the WADA guidelines.

"It's been stressing and hard playing cricket and all that's in the back of your head. But at the end of the day you have to do what you have to do," Russell told Jamaican Observer. "It's like a big cloud over my head. If I get a ban then definitely I'm out of cricket [during the period of the suspension]; I mean all formats. So I'd just love to know I'm back and I can represent Jamaica Tallawahs, West Indies, and all the other teams I play for in the world.
He missed 3 doping tests in a 12-month period.
The verdict will be out tomorrow.
Most likely will be banned.

Jamaica board started all this. Why? Did Russell snub them for free lancing?

He was clearly on PEDs recently, did you see how his performances jumped out of nowhere, tell me how a man in his late 20s bumps his speeds up so dramatically within few months.

I watched this guy for years, and last year or so he dramatically improved and not technically either just physically, if you don't think that is suspicious then you're nuts, I said I thought he was on peds before all this came out and this further strengthens my opinion

And he's been charged under Wada rules, not Jamaican board, but they're ruling the decision, so I assume he'll get off with it, with a fine and a secret fine on top of that

The PED claim is an accusation only.

Jamaican board filed the complaint.

Only one year ban. Too soft of a punishment.

Am going by what I see in him

I called that he was on something before any accusations came about or the knowledge of missed tests

He looked like he was on peds

How does someone get away from drug tests like that? Do players have the choice to take or not to take?

If it was at a centre he didn't appear, if they tried at his home, he didn't open the door

They're mandatory tests, he violated the rules, hence the ban
