I never blamed all Pakistanis. However some Pakistanis simply dont like him and label him as i mentioned.

I wouldnt bring in religion into cricket, but truth is that i have seen quite a few pakistanis refer to India-Pakistan being a fight of Muslims against Hindus, and that Azharuddin before, and Irfan now are betraying Muslims by playing for India.

I pointed out some vices of players (Imran Khan & Shoaib) just to show that Pakistani players dont represent Islam any more than Irfan does (who as far as i know is the son of a Muazzin and not into partying).

I criticised a section of Pakistani supporters just as i have criticised Indian supporters who never give Pakistan credit and make derogatory comments on their players.

This is true that some Pakis look at it in this way. They cannot be blamed, as they simply cannot see a Muslim play for India against the Land of the Pure (Oh yeah !). Now whos more intolerant ?, :duh:

You cannot generalize a person by saying hes the son of a priest and hence not into partying. To a certain degree maybe, but not necessarily true

Pathan's hattrick had to do with his skills and not his religion nor his liking/disliking to partying!! So what if Shoaib and Imran partys, they are still two of the best fast bowlers of all time!

Boy, this guy doesn't ball fast, but he is so effective. He should be the role model for our future bowlers, not Shoib and his speed.

Not that I am diminishing the effectiveness of Shoib's speed, but realistically its hard to get another Shoib clone by any nation, forget about Bangladesh.

And what's wrong if Shoib Akhtar enjoy's partying

He was stunning today, still one of the fastest bowler and creamed Indian bowlers with ease.

Why a thread praising Pathan suddenly becomes S. Akhter trashing thread.

Pretty Pathetic.

Fazal, you hit the nail.

Some people don't know how to appreciate cricket.

Why always bring Religion or Politics?

I mean they are entitled to live the life in way they want... Why you guys are bringin in personal lifes, religion and Races of players in .. I mean they dont make any difference. Coffee, I advise you to put unnecessary hatred aside.. don't make racist remark like 'Pakis' again.. very offensive term even though you as an Indian may think it's alrite to do so.

From rec.sport.cricket : mms://server4.khajoortv.biz/pathan

The three balls had speeds of 72.7, 71.3 (?) and 77.x mph. The one that got Youhana would have bowled almost any right handed batsman.

The one he bowled to Salman Butt was virtually unplayable. Any left handed batsman would play at it and considering the amount of swing/seam he generated, 8 out of 10 batsmen would edge it.

Asif had the best swing when he bowled Laxman.
Also, Shoib's speed reached 153+ mph yesterday.

the pearl of a delivery that pathan reserved for the 3rd wicket was no less of another unplayable one!

Well, maybe this should be a interesting piece of tidbit for some of us :

Quote:
In a sensational start to the third Test, Irfan Pathan swung balls of fire that scorched the Pakistan top order. He has been swinging the bat more than the ball in this series so far, Michael Holding had spotted a technical flaw that had crept in - the thumb was held across the seam instead of along it it, whispers about how his new found love for batting was affecting his bowling were circulating when he walked in to the grassy National Stadium at Karachi this morning.
Boy! Did Pathan make adjustments or what!

Pathan! Congrates. Unbelievable for sure. how old is he? 22. Can he be our bowling coach? Absolutely amazing stuff.

Yousuf's out was shocking. On a hattirck chance what kind of defense was that on a class batsman like him. One mile gap between pad and bat. Need lessons from Dravid.

There you go, the hattrick,

I love it how the compiler gives a disclaimer stating "Please note that pitch was turning. It wasnt Pathans magic" :P

thanks so much ........really appreciate your work.....it is the pitch i guess........hatric ball swang like an offbreak

one of my Indian friend was telling me that irfan pathan and Mashrafe mortaza went to same bowling institute in India.....they were the best friend and started bowling together.........i guess he is talking about the MRF Pace Academy in Chennai ........so in that case Mashrafe should have the same caliber right?
