Tamim
Imrul
Sabbir
Mushy
Shakib
Riad
Mosaddek
MHR
Mortaza
Shafiul
Taskin

Don't think any other combination will be picked. Nasir has to wait. The conditions will be sluggish so playing an offie wouldn't be too bad but Nasir doesn't spin the ball or give loop. Riad and Mosaddek can replicate that far better.

Here is my playing XI for 1st ODI

01) Tamim (for obvious reason)
02) KaEdge (He's in good form when Soumya is out-of-form and confidence)
03) Sabbir (#3 is our problem position and Sabbir is doing well there)
04) Mushfiq (If Sabbir plays at #3 then I'd like to have Riyad at #6 as finisher)
05) Sakib (for obvious reason)
06) Riyad ( He needs to be the finisher when Sabbir bats at #3)
07) Mosaddek (Same batting as Nasir but His loopy off-spin could be better than Nasir's flat trajectory)
08) Masrafee (for obvious reason)
09) Mosarraf ( Two SLA would be obvious spin bowling option)
10) Al-Amin (His death-over bowling is way better than Shafiul and we'd need it)
11) Taskin (Good chance for him to improve his accuracy during initial overs)

I think Mosaddek is here to stay.

I am not a talent spotter but I really liked whatever little I saw of Mosaddek. He has a good technique, can play under pressure, strike some lusty blows, play unorthodox shots. He played with a lot of maturity in domestic cricket as per Tamim.

Nasir, Anamul, Sarkar they call came and failed because they didn't work on their technical flaws. Nasir couldn't play the bouncer, not the best against swing and striking a wide ball. Also lacked muscles, he never worked on them. Anamul had his paralyzed feet issue. Soumya, he has problems playing the spinner where his feet don't move. Also needed to stop the cross batted hoiks and play vertical shots.

Mosaddek didn't seem to have the same set of problems from what I saw in BPL or international appearances. He is a good modern day batsman. Could turn out to be our very best. However, he needs to keep up the good work.

How many catches will Mushy drop in this match?
How many missed stumping will come from him?

Looks like imrul gonna get into best 11, good for him !!

"He batted tremendously well as we did not expect the way he played against the English pacers. Honestly, it was one of those innings to remember for a long time. He is an established batsman in our Test side but it’s a different case to perform consistently in the ODIs as he played the first match against Afghanistan but was later dropped for the next two games. But after his hundred in the practice match, I am hopeful that he will be able to make it into the playing XI against England in the first ODI,” Nannu told the media.

Nasir must be kicking himself. First Sabbir came in and took his spot with brilliant batting and fielding and now Mosaddek pretty much cemented his spot for the Eng series after the Afg show. Poor kiddo

Tamim
Kayes
Sabbir
Mushy
Shakib
Mossadekh
Mahmudullah
Nasir
Mashrafe
MH Rubel
Taskin

We don't need the 3seam option against a England who play pace well and have trouble playing spin in the subcontinent. So a two pace and heavy spin attack would be a better ploy against the English lions. Hopefully the wickets are slow and low, cause on flat pancakes I think England have upperhand (they way they have been batting recently in ODI).

We need to bat as deep as possible, our tail is long hence I have Nasir in the side adds more batting depth. Alamin and Shafiul, either one of them will be roasted by England, I don't fancy none of them.

I hope this is the playing XI and the pitch is like the second odi vs Afghans.

Plenty of bowling options and should be sufficient if we have a slow wicket. Shakib should open the bowling with Mash and Taskin comes on after the PP.

1.Mash
2. Taskin
3. Shakib
4. MH Rubel
5. Nasir
6. Mosaddek
7. Riyad

Here's another perspective. It seems UK bookies are firmly backing England to win. No surprise there, I suppose, but the article is balanced enough even if it does predict an England win.

Rubel is not in the squad...
It came as a surprise to me... rubel is a much better option anyday over Al-Amin

^^ MH Rubel = Mosarraf Hossain Rubel - the SLA bowler, not Rubel Hussain the pace bowler.

Soon Miraz will take his spot on the bench too.

Nasir needs to focus on improving his batting. Just being an utility player will take him nowhere.

I generally like Sabbir, but I think he is talking too much in media these days...He should focus on cricket and stay away from making statements like that in media...it only fires up the opposition and propels them to thrash Bangladesh. I Like that he is confident and trying to inspire confidence into his teammates but no need to put the opposition down and on the spotlight like that.

Keep it in the dressing room. Praise them outside the dressing room.
