At the same time Australia rely on Starc and Cummins for wickets. If we can play Starc out like India did against Amir, we can attack the remaining bowlers during the middle overs. We need to hammer maxwell as soon as he comes on to put pressure back on Australia and force Finch to bowl Starc during the middle overs. Less overs from Starc will make things easier at the death. I would open with Miraz and Saifuddin against Warner.

If we win the toss we need to target 320. If we lose the toss and bowl we must also expect to chase 300+ Now that we scored two innings in excess of 300 in 4 games we won't panic. In Liton we also have the firepower of a Soumya at the death. If openers can post 50, we have the middle order to trouble the aussies
Totally agree

Personally in the past I would despise India, Pakistan and England mainly due to the ridicule and comments they would say about Bangladesh. Even Afghanistan nor Ireland have had such barrage of negative PR against them.

Even after our wins, like a conjoined twin, our past lowly performances were always in an article to belittle us. However after seeing alot of them change their tune and that bitterness towards them has reduced. I have also seen that these days we get alot of appreciation if not support from the fans from India and Pakistan as well which is a result I think from the above too.

I was really chuffed when the English crowd was so supportive when Tamim scored his 100 vs England in the Champions trophy, many saying Bangladesh has come a long way. Even a colleague of mine who is a member of the MCC says Bangladesh is a much improved side but they need to somehow harness Tamim.

Only Australia and New Zealand are left who hasnt accepted our rise. Ironic for the Kiwis though.

InshahAllah hoping for a win against the Aussies!

I should have said this in the other post, but all those practising Brothers and Sisters, please make extra prayers to thank the All Mighty for the win. We have been quite blessed for the past few years and may it continue going forward

This is a match I'm really looking forward to, and I don't have to say why that is, do I? Technically, Australia are ranked lower than New Zealand and South Africa; teams, we have given a run for their money, but Australia is one of these sides we have struggled against. Remember the curtailed game in Champions Trophy? Australia were on top. Also, we have not played an ODI series against them since 11, and I believe they should return for a limited overs series because every other side has.

Aussies are obnoxiously supremacist - they do not mind dishing out whenever they can totally forgetting where were they ranked during colonial era and what they did to aborigines. But I agree with Magician. No need to bring any political/journalism reference to a cricket ground. After everything it is a game of mind and skill. The better team of the day will win.

So BD will . Good luck

Forget winning, we would have knocked India out of the first round with us at their home in front of their very own crowd.

That was a once-in-a-life-time opportunity lost. The reactions would have been priceless.

Win toss. Bat first. Post more than 320. Tamim is bound to score plenty. Had a very quiet tournament so far.

Anybody who understimates Bangladesh team will lose. Sehwag once had egg all over his face. Same with some Pak players. In fact, I fancy Bangladesh to beat Pakistan as they look the more balanced team.

Thanks yaar. I will support Bangladesh when playing against any country other than India.

Bangladeshis are nice people. And culture wise, it is very close to West Bengal. A person who speaks Bangla as mother tongue can pick up Sanskrit or Hindi with ease.

That apart, Bangladesh has a very good balanced team. The ease and ruthlessness with which Shakib and Das dismantled Windies it is clear BDesh has a good shot at semis. After that, it is all how one plays on the day.

Normal Bangladeshis and Indian get along well professionally and socially. Especially if they are from Kolkata as the language and Illish acts as a binding force. We had a Kolkata mate who would socialise with us Bangladeshis more than his Indian friends.

I am quite impressed how Indian media and fans have started appreciating us. There are many in Bangladesh who support Indian team as well.

Bangladesh will get a barrage of short bowling from Australia. But this time they are ready.

My tip for Bangladesh - Trust the slow bowlers and spinners to choke the Aussies. The subcontinent medium pace bowlers are meat and drink for the Aussies who have grown playing such bowling.

India counts Bangladesh as one of its close allies. That is govt govt level.

On a people level, yes people of both countries get on well.
