Strange to think Mash retired because he lost a battle over Rubel (who is a poor bowler in this format) but has not fought for his best T20I bowler AA when he was left out!

Definitely not forced.
He is a valuable lower order batsman who can hit the ball hard.
Best captain
Ordinary bowler but better than Shahadat in this format

Papon sure knows how to make a mess out of a simple situation -
Mash still available for T20Is: Nazmul
Quote:
Contrary to the common belief, Bangladesh Cricket Board president Nazmul Hasan on Friday said fast bowler Mashrafee bin Murtaza was still available for the selection of national Twenty20 side.
Mashrafee announced his retirement from Twenty20 international during the toss of first match against Sri Lanka in recent series, creating a huge uproar among his fans. While Mashrafee never gave any indication of changing his mind, Nazmul, who hardly missed an opportunity to open his chatterbox, came out with the contradicting statement upon team’s return from Sri Lanka. ‘I have said it repeatedly that Mashrafee did not quit Twenty20 internationals. We never said he was not in the squad. He just gave up captaincy… if remained fit he would play,’ Nazmul told reporters at Dhaka airport.
Nazmul, who initially claimed in Sri Lanka Mashrafee had discussed his retirement plan with him, was visibly upset by the repercussion that came with the decision of the bowler. ‘I have never seen it anywhere in the world apart from Bangladesh who came in the Twenty20 side or who had left,’ he said. ‘Everywhere people discuss about ODIs, Tests but not about Twenty20s. Mashrafee can always get upset because he is a player. Not just a player, but also led the team. So he could feel upset because of his retirement. It could happen to me as well,’ said Nazmul.
Though Nazmul made series of statements over almost anything and everything that happened in Sri Lanka, the BCB was yet to make any formal statement about Mashrafee’s retirement. When contacted BCB media committee chairman Jalal Yunus said Mashrafee was yet to inform the board anything formally about his retirement.

Can never doubt BCB's ability to turn anything into a full blown circus.

Rubel is not poor.
That is what Mash said. Not 3 years but this year.

LOL, what in the world is this circus? I am pretty sure MASH called it a quit by saying MY LAST t20. What is Papon speaking about? So at the end of the day the truth finds a way to pop out. It seems to me that they wanted Mash to step aside from t20 captaincy. But MASH decided to call off the whole t20. That's the vibe am getting form reading this article.

I saw this on the news. Mashrafe was sitting next to him and just hanged his head back laughing while Papon was spouting this rubbish.

This is exactly what I have been thinking. Besides there was rumor right after NZ series that they do not want Mash to lead T20. Now Papon is just making a circus out of this situation. Typical

I am getting the same idea too.
BCB (Haturu) asked Mash to give up T20 captaincy, Mash took a wise decision by quitting T20 altogether, knowing his place as a bowler in the T20 team is not that promising...
IMHO, Mash took a smart decision. hats off to him for his service to the national team.
He will be missed as a motivational captain but his retirement will open the door for another player to contribute and shine...

Quote:

I felt laughing the otherday when Ramanayeke asked between the break of second T20 to Haturu wher have you found this Kaedge baba? after Kaedges blistering performance. It was so much all over Haturu's facial expression written that he was full of surprise he didn't know that our Kayedge baba can play such kinda knock.
So, this means Hautru should sometime just have to look at our players at closer look before he is dismissing so many like as he is dismissing Mominul, god knows who else is in his not liking list. Head coach's job is to improve those players ability and technically make them flawless, not to send them in middle of the desert just by let alone !!
Head coach can have own right to ask for his demand but not total autonomy! then why we do have boards and management? this things should be properly taken care of before too late and Haturu leave us in jeopardy in total disarray !!

Sorry but it was Roshan Abheysinghe
Second it was the Lankans who were like "who this Kayes is" as if they never saw him play in limited overs.
Infact haturi wasn't surprised he was just playing along. Beside it's not normal for a batsman with 7 average to score 29 runs in a t20

spot on.. just couldn't remember his name
well of course I know, but the impression from Haturu what I saw as well was giving impression that he too was bit surprise by Kayes's attacking shots.

Exactly coach was right to declare as that was crucial for the win but now I am thinking the whole team might have just played mindlessly in the 2nd innings just to prove the coach wrong. That might even explain Shakib's poor shot on the 2nd innings .

Thanks Mashrafe for your service to our national team.
-------------
Til ke Tal bananor kono dorkar nai. Mashrafe announced his retirement for T-20. We accept it. If he decides to comeback, we will accept it too. What's the big deal about it? We don't know (and we shouldn't know) what goes on behind doors.

What is there to force at this point. He has nothing left to give. Time to call it a quit and look forward to politics.

At this instance, seems like he's being forced to play. There were rumor that Mash actually wanted to skip out this series. He had been avoiding talking to both Akram Khan and Papon, but looks like Papon finally got a hold of him.

I don't know why he is even playing this series. Give some of the new guys a chance. Mash should have made the WC his retirement campaign.
