Yes ditch Mushfiq, bring on Liton/Anamul/Nurul Hasan/ZakirHasan and the whole works.

We can be sure all the Mushfiq boo boys will be praying for his return in a year time.

Truth is we dont have one replacement keeper capable of replacing even an out of form Mushfiq. Maybe we have candidates better with the glove. But cricket these days is about all rounders. You cant just be a good keeper, you need to be able to bat, motivate your bowlers, provide support/advice to your captain. Not sure whether we have a solid replacement candidate yet.

Mush will continue to keep until someone who is good enough with the bat can break into the national team again and hold down a spot.

Liton just didn't perform with the bat, anamul had whatever issues he had (although I don't necessarily think anamul was that much better of a keeper than mushy).

Who else is there? Nurul maybe but his batting is nowhere near up to scratch yet.

You have to remember this new keeper batsman is going to have to replace mushy himself or a specialist bat. I don't think they'll swap an allrounder for a keeper bat at this stage.

In shorter formats you need at least 4 world class bowlers plus at least one close to world class and hopefully if you're lucky you also have one or two who can throw their arm over reasonably on Occassion or for a couple of overs.

When all are fit we've got shakib, fizz and taskin. Mash is ok, rubel can be decent but can also be inconsistent, we don't really have any decent enough spinners other than shakib and the allrounders (riyad, nasir, mosaddek).

Imo, best shot is liton, but he's got to be able to make his way back into the lineup first and then he needs to perform.

The problem with finding a replacement is dime-a-dozen.

First we need a keeper who is very good with the gloves, and can also bat well enough as any other batsman in the side. The options so far are

Liton- injured and needs to perform with the bat
Anamul - Needs to fix his technical flaws and his keeping isn't top class
Zakir Hasan - Still young, performed in FC, not so much in DPL
Nurul- Performed in FC, not so much in other formats. Excellent glovesman.
JahuruL Islam - Good keeper, not so great a batsman

So for now, we can safely say that we don't have any option but to keep Mushy. Mushy is also an experienced player although I wished he would bat like one. On the other hand, he is a senior.

Wish we were as lucky as England.

They have 4 wicket keeper in their odi squad and all them arE very good and keep for their domestic team; Butler, Bairstow, Briggs and Duckett

Even SL these days have 2/3 keepers in their player XI.

Sadly we can't say the same so we have to let Mushy keep. I'm not worried about his batting tbh. He will come good iA As soon as he stops playing stupid shots

Mushfiq is a bad choice for wicket keeping, we defo need to try new options.

He is a talented batsman but he is failing. However atm he is the best we got, so unless we find someone decent enough he is here to stay

Can't keep , can't bat.
After all these years, as a senior batsman, he still plays like a noob.
What does he do in the nets all night ? - tries to perfect his sweep ???

CONfiqur gets out cheaply again!

But I'm a very very fair man. And I will say that AT LEAST he was able to rotate the strike these two games. What's up with Tamim eating so many dots in both games? And Shakib and Shabbir in this game? Can't even match CONfiqur in just simple BKSP 101 basics "rotate strike"?

Shameful.

But the thing with CONfiqur was always this, it's not that he is an over the hill batsman, it's that he SUCKS as a wicketkeeper as well! So for long term strategy, I want a better wicket keeper batsman.

And I think such a man exists today in Anamul Haque, or Nurul Hasan (he will mature into a batsman quicker than CONfiqur, don't forget how many ODIs CONfiqur was made to look like a hapless and helpless chicken before he peaked).

Anyway, as long as CONfiqur is in the team, he will forever be a liability to the red and green. Opponents just love CONfiqur! They know they can get some dropped chances, oh, and if it's a half chance? NO FREAKING QUESTION, his short height ensures it won't get even close to the fingers.

Wake up people. Call CONfiqur what he should be called, which is a CON.

His dismissals are always funny, today he tries to hook a short ball bouncer from someone as tall as Ball when he's a shorty himself. How the hell did he think he could middle that properly

Once again u can see he is in form but too prone to playing shots in the air.
My advice to him wouod be that he avoids playing any shot in the air atleast not before he reaches 50

You can't play hook coz you r short?

What kind of logic is that?

I think he just needs to work with a batting consultant one on one. Form is not the issue. Just these brainless shots he tries to play.

That was a really good bouncer they got him. I think his problem is not his form as he looks so much at ease but he doesn't have the luck on his said, and ofcourse those frequent brainfarts.

We shouldn't drop him because he is still far more able than our next best option.

Though Nurul Hasan doesn't have an impressive list A average, his strike rate is around 87 which is good comparing to other keepers. If he improves on his batting then as good a wicket keeper he is, we need him in the team.

Mushfiq is still a class batsmen but with poor judgement.

Other than a couple of drops, his keeping was solid today...

I liked what Nasser Hussain suggested - Mushfiq should bat at #6.

Those catches which you guys referring to is not drop in this game, I wonder how many keeper would have able to grab them. Those weee hard chances. You have to have some super duper reflex to catch them.

Sometimes we are way too harsh on a player and find fault in everything they do when they going through a bad patch

Really? Is this what its come to, that even after dropping catches we will still find positives in his keeping
