Whatever happened to these players?
Batsmen:
Hannan Sarkar
Al Shahriar Rokon
Mehrab Hossain Opee
Tushar Imran
Shahriar Hossain Biddyut
Bowlers:
Bikash Ranjan Das
Talha Jubair
Hasibul Hossain Shanto
Shafaq Al Zabir
Wayesquruni Palash
AFAIK, these guys are still young enough to play cricket actively and professionally, yet we hardly here about them these days. Are they all involved in domestic cricket (e.g. NCL, Dhaka League, etc)? Or have they disappeared from the cricket scene and taken up other professions?
I fondly remember the dogged resistance that Hannan Sarkar offered the Aussies in our tour to that country back in 2003 (I was reminded of it by the Events section on the Banglacricket homepage). But has he deteriorated as a player so much so that he no longer gets A-team call-ups?
Likewise for the other guys mentioned on the list. It looks like we've wasted a whole bunch of talent. An entire generation of players lost to the winds of time.
I'm wondering whether the BCB needs to organize far more A-team tours, so that we have a decent bunch of reserve players, and not lose them like the ones mentioned above.

Bikash Ranjan Das > He has converted to Muslim. That's a big news.
Mehrab Hossain Opee > He still plays domestic cricket. Last season I saw him opening for Dhaka in NCL one day match at Abahani ground against Chittagong.

Of all these players, only tushar imran has any chance of coming back to the national team, if at all.

Shanto was always erratic....
I still think Hannan sarkar had the best technique when he was in form ( didnt last long tho).....
Tushar Imran can always play for our A team...
Bikas ranjan doesnt play anymore....he came out of no where and then dissappeared just as quickly....
Opee played for the division 1 last year before getting chance at the First class competition after national team players were gone for national team commitment.
I would love to know what happened to Biddyut. He was my favorite batsmen at one point.
Also where is milon ( hard hitter but never played for national team)....
Also like to know a about imran hamid partho who was the hardest hitter of the cricket ball in our premier league during early/mid 90's along with SamaraSakera but only played for the national team at the hongkong sixes.

Imran Hamid Partho was, well, shei juger player. Really no better than the likes of Jahangir Alam Dulu or Rashedul Liton or, say, Sajal Chowdhury (relatively speaking, each in its own field of "expertise").

Hassibul Hossain Shanto:
He last played ODI against India in a very important home series ...where we could win the series...but unfortunate injury of important strike bowler(cant remember whom) made chance for him...and as it wasn't the right one for him, he failed to perform badly....bad luck for him and BD...never seen him after that!

And our reply would be.....
Mohammad Matin Ashrfaul
With meteoric rise in Dhallywood, he is one of the most sought after actor in Dhaka. Thikana named him the one of the most powerful person in Bangladesh and Bichitra "The Sexiest Ex-Athlete Alive." Right after quitting his sporting career he got involved in hardcore drugs and had a series of affairs with Tinni, Tania, Tashnin.... He has a je ne sais quoi svengali charm which no woman can resist. Currently, he signed a contract to star in the Masud Rana: Nrishingsho Hottakari Ghotok where he fights underworld, criminal kingpins opposing Shabana (who makes a Meryl Streep like cameo) and Rubel.

Biddyut wanted to get back as a "Steward" of Bangladesh Biman. He didnt think his career was safe with cricket. And it wasnt.
Bikash Ranjan Dash is known as Mahmudur Rahman and does not play cricket.
Opee got trouble with some murder case and was barely able to find a club in Dhaka last season. Talha/Shafaq Al Zabir were thought to be the future pace attack but there was no bowling coach at that time and Andy Robert's prediction became a sigh and a forgotten comment.
Tusher Imran/Hannan Sarker is still playing good domestic cricket. But it is very unlikely that they will come back to the national fold with so many new/dropped/ICL players with recent history with the fold.
Rokon is lost somewhere. He was suppose to be playing/coaching in NZ with a cousin's help. None knows ( or cares) about this "talented" player any more.
Tareq Aziz/Manjurl Islam like numerous players are still around...
This disucssion begs the question,, how many ex-national players did we produce in our 10 year Test history comared to other nations? Well,, we had to be number one in some areas, I suppose!!

They were from the dark era of BD cricket stricken with innings defeat in tests and 10 wicket defeats in ODIs.....lets give them a heart-filled farewell and move on

Both hannan and Talha should be back in the national camp soon. Hannan was one of our best backfoot players and he had a pretty good domestic season last time around so I expect him to be at least called to camp. Talha is defnitiely na class bowler but has some mental problems. If he can sort them out, he should definitely be back...

i think among them, talha jubair and hannan has bright chance to come back in the test team.hannan can fit in ODI and 20/20 also. rest are history. tushar imran always failed in the national team. rest are senior citizen in the cricket world. there is no chance almost for them for the international cricket.
i think tushar Imran can be an ideal player for 20/20, may be he will prove he is our misbah ul hauque. Or may be i am day dreaming?

Such a shame that we lost so many of these players.
I had forgotten all about Biddyut. He was quite a handy opener for a while. So was Hannan Sarkar.
Rajin Saleh also showed great promise as one who puts a price on his wicket. But somehow he also struck me as one that would hang around at the wicket, squander ball after ball, and not score any runs.
I am saddened by Talha's development. Remember MMTT (Mashrafe, Monjurul, Talha and Tapash)? Apart from Mashrafe, they all turned out to be nothing bowlers. I thought Talha showed a lot of promise when he played against South Africa in South Africa as a 17 year old.
