In case of test cricket i rate this guy very high.I rate this guy is as same as Suhrawardy and IMO both of them r better test bowler than Razzak and Enamul !

In this match rubel did do quite good but not that good. The fielders did good. All of rubels wicket were actually catches from either mushfiqe rahim or the fielders and rubels econ is 6.00.
I'm not saying rubel did bad or good. pretty good for a batsman making his debut though.
Anyway he might have bowled short balls on purpose so the batsman would slog it high in the air with a fielder under it, waiting for it to drop in his hands. so i'm not criticizing him i'm just calling him lucky

So, some of you are confused with the stats.. please see Tiger_Eye posted stats on the different thread. The averages are substantially higher than what you think it is...

Aftab, Nazim, Nafis, Forhad, Rafique, Bashar, Mabud are all doing good in fact. To be honest, as much as they were being bashed that they are playing against retired players in ICL and their efforts meant nothing at all... they are playing pretty well in the Dhaka League, Big Boss T20, Port City League...

Nafees has been scoring regulary and Aftab is getting his rythm back, Rafique is winning matches, Kapali is playing good as an allrounder captain. These players all contribured for their team's win.. The missing ones are Dhiman Ghosh, Baisya, Manju and Sharif. Other than Dhiman the rest were almost coming to end of their careers in Dhaka League anyways...

I think the ICL was a blessing in disguise for BCB...we now have a good pool of players to select from for 2010 busy calendar!!

Hmmm, so ICLers got only half of the money they have been promised! National team and DPL together, they could have easily earned that much and would not have to lose a year from international cricket!

ঢাকা ওয়ারিয়র্স ক্রিকেটারদের মধ্যে শাহরিয়ারের চুক্তিটাই ছিল সবচেয়ে বড় অঙ্কের। তিন বছরের চুক্তির প্রতিবছরে তাঁর পাওয়ার কথা ছিল ২ লাখ ২০ হাজার ডলার (বাংলাদেশি টাকায় প্রায় দেড় কোটি) করে। বিভিন্ন সূত্রে পাওয়া তথ্য অনুযায়ী অন্যদের চুক্তির অঙ্ক ছিল বছরপ্রতি এ রকম—আফতাব আহমেদ ২ লাখ ডলার, অলক কাপালি ১ লাখ ৭০ হাজার, নাজিমউদ্দিন ১ লাখ ৫০ হাজার, ফরহাদ রেজা ১ লাখ ৩০ হাজার, হাবিবুল ও ধীমান ঘোষ ১ লাখ করে, মোশাররফ হোসেন ৯০ হাজার, মোহাম্মদ রফিক ৬০ হাজার, মোহাম্মদ শরীফ ও মঞ্জুরুল ইসলাম ৩০ হাজার করে, তাপস বৈশ্য ২৫ হাজার এবং গোলাম মাবুদ ও মাহবুবুর রহমান ২০ হাজার ডলার করে। আইসিএলের কাছ থেকে সবাই পেয়েছেন এর অর্ধেক।

I find it hard to believe that the winning bonus per match was 25 lakh USD or USD 2.5 million. I think the writer meant 25 lakh rupees and even then it sounds too much as a winning bonus for a single match.

How come Rafique's contract was worth only 60k?

Oh well I hope the ICLers have learnt a lesson.

Yes your right. I don't think prize money is that much high. So at the end of the day it was not as profitable as they thought. Good lesson for the big mouths.

আইসিএল অধ্যায়ের পর জীবনটা নতুন করে বাঁক নিয়েছে আবার।

তাপস বৈশ্য এখন আর একা নন, ঘরে আছেন স্ত্রী সুমি। তবে জীবনের বাঁকে বাঁকে এই পেসার একটা জিনিসই কেবল দেখেন—ক্রিকেট। ফেলে আসা অতীত ভুলে স্বপ্ন দেখেন ভালো জায়গায় খেলার। স্বপ্নটা সাদাকালো নয়, সহধর্মিণীর আশাজাগানিয়া তুলির আঁচড়ে অনেকটাই রঙিন

 দল তো খারাপ ছিল না। অথচ সুপার লিগে উঠতে পারল না সূর্যতরুণ! ব্যর্থতার কারণ কী মনে হয়?
তাপস বৈশ্য: দল ভালোই ছিল আমাদের। আসলে টপ অর্ডারের ব্যাটিংটাই সর্বনাশ করেছে। কেউই ভালো খেলেনি। ১০ ম্যাচে টপ অর্ডার থেকে মাত্র ৫টা ফিফটি হয়েছে, যার মধ্যে সুমন ভাইয়েরই (হাবিবুল বাশার) তিনটা। ক্যারিয়ারে এর আগে কখনোই রেলিগেশন লিগ খেলতে হয়নি। আমি তো চিন্তাই করতে পারছি না...।

 নিজের পারফরম্যান্সে কি সন্তুষ্ট আপনি?
তাপস: ১০ ম্যাচে ১৬ উইকেট পেয়েছি—আমি সন্তুষ্ট। আরও উইকেট পেলে আরও বেশি ভালো লাগত। তবে আমার ভালো করা দিয়ে তো কথা না, দল যদি ভালো না করে...।

 বিয়ে করেছেন তো বছরও হয়নি। নতুন জীবন কেমন চলছে?
তাপস: বউকে নিয়ে ভালোই আছি... হা হা হা।

 বউ কি ক্রিকেট ভালোবাসে? আপনি জাতীয় দলে খেলছেন না বলে হতাশ নাকি?
তাপস: আসলে ক্রিকেট ও খুব একটা বোঝে না। তবে প্রতিদিনই সিলেট থেকে ফোন করে খোঁজখবর নিত। দল খারাপ করলেও বলে, ‘তুমি তো ভালো করেছ।’ আমার বর্তমান অবস্থা নিয়ে ওর কোনো হতাশা নেই। বরং মানসিকভাবে আমাকে অনেক সাপোর্ট দেয়। খেলাটেলা কিছু বোঝে না, তার পরও কীভাবে জানি আমাকে বলে, ‘আত্মবিশ্বাস নিয়ে খেলো!’ আমি অবাক হয়ে যাই। এই যে আমি ঢাকায় পড়ে আছি লিগ খেলার জন্য, সিলেটে হয়তো মাসে একবার যাচ্ছি, সেটা নিয়েও কোনো অভিযোগ করে না। বলে, ‘আমার কথা ভেবো না।’

 আপনার নিজের চিন্তাভাবনা কী? জাতীয় দলে ফেরার স্বপ্ন নিশ্চয়ই আছে?
তাপস: আশা তো সবারই থাকে। আমারও আশা আছে আমি আবার ভালো জায়গায় খেলব। সরাসরি জাতীয় দলেই ফিরতে হবে তা নয়, ‘এ’ দল আছে, একাডেমি আছে। এখন যারা পেসার আছে, যেকোনো জায়গায় আমি তাদের সঙ্গে প্রতিযোগিতা করে খেলতে প্রস্তুত। সুযোগ পেলে জাতীয় দলে ফেরার মতো পারফর্ম করতে পারব আশা করি।

 আইসিএলে গিয়েছিলেন তো জাতীয় দলের আশা ছেড়ে দিয়েই, তাই না?
তাপস: ব্যাপারটা ওরকম ছিল না আসলে। আমি তখন মাত্রই কাঁধের ইনজুরি থেকে উঠলাম। ভাবলাম জাতীয় দলে যখন নেই, কয়দিন আইসিএলে খেলে আসি। আর তখন আমরা জানতাম আইসিএলকে আইসিসি অনুমোদন দিয়ে দেবে। জাতীয় দলের আশা কখনোই ছাড়িনি। একবার জাতীয় দলে খেললে জাতীয় দল ছাড়া অন্য কিছু ভাবা কষ্টকর।

 জাতীয় দলে এখন যে পেসাররা আছেন, তাঁদের সঙ্গে তুলনায় নিজেকে কোথায় রাখবেন?
তাপস: মাশরাফির কথা আলাদা। ইনজুরি সমস্যার কারণে ও পারছে না, নয়তো মাশরাফি বিশ্বমানের বোলার। আর অন্যদের কথা যদি বলেন, আমি নিজেকেই এগিয়ে রাখব। হয়তো এখন দূরে আছি বলে প্রমাণ করতে পারছি না। আইসিএলে গিয়ে, ওদের সঙ্গে খেলে আত্মবিশ্বাসী হয়ে ওঠার সাহসটা অন্তত হয়েছে। তা ছাড়া সুমন ভাই প্রায়ই বলেন, আমি নাকি চাইলে এখনো জাতীয় দলে খেলতে পারি। তাঁর এই কথা আমাকে মানসিকভাবে সাহস দেয়।

Bashar seems to have great people skills...its just a pity his captaincy on the field isn't as good. He did keep team harmony tho in the national team..don't know why surjotorun did so bad...
