A disgusting century
I do not understand one thing how do batsman think personal century is more important then team win. How does team management allow this to happen? You know who I am talking about right?

It could only be disgusting if we had some chance to win. AUS followed ENG and batted us out. We bowled miserably and then Tamim started miserly. Tamim's 50 took 65 balls. I think he took 92 balls to century. Cannot blame it.

Yes that cheater Warner’s century was disgusting. Cheaters should never be allowed by management to represent the country

It was better than run a ball century. If another top order batsman scored better than run a ball century, we would have won today.
This is a terrible thread with no understanding of cricket.
What do you want - a 20 ball 30 and then get out?

Mushy's century was perfect - Kohli played two similar innings and his team won. The difference is Kohli was supported by super quick cameos from Pandya, Dhoni, and others.
Mushy had no such support. Soumya failed - he is in the team to give us quickfire start - he is yet to score a 50. Mahmudullah succeeded today. Liton was unlucky. And MSD of BD aka child beater scored a golden duck.
And you blame Mushy. A disgusting thread.

Our semifinal position is in the line.. Atleast he could try.. If he would get out some body else would have those balls to try..

He did try and needed support.
Who would have used those balls, Rubel and Mustafiz?
The star batsman Sabbir was our first ball.

He wasted a lot of balls taking singles... At over 35 he looked like he gave up on winning the game.. He is steering the ball to third man for a single when there are gaps in the field. Why??

i dont think he has any cricket knowledge or common sense, otherwise this kind of thread is not possible.

Yup he did try to score quick runs. He even tried to scoop and reverse sweep which he wouldn't have done if he was just playing for the century. Australia bowled and field well.
I agree with you that personal milestones means nothing if you are not trying to win the match for the team. However, it wasn't the case here.

If you look at the fielding they were clearly trying to stop the 4's and allowing batsman to take singles. He just took the offer and played 20 overs. No fight no fire no points!

If you give what your opponents want then where is the fight? There is no shame in loosing a fight but backing away from it is not respectful.

The same thing went through my mind. I only watched the last 3 overs. But I would have put it in different way. By that I mean the thread title.. "what's the use of a century if you are not even trying to go for the win" might have been more appropriate. 18 balls 60 runs was doable.. possibly no team can do that.. but that's where winners mentality comes in.. they try. Might get out in doing so but they don't give up. Anyway congrats for century to musfik

We let the oppositions score more than 300 in all the games. Bowling is clearly a problem. Too many batsman and few bowlers. We need to drop a batsman and add a bowler.

I agree with you. looks like he gave up the chase as it was impossible to achieve and concentrated on the century (at the end part of the innings). I would rather see him take some more chances and try the impossible and and risk his century.... by doing so it would be a heroic performance for me. But now.... I see a SR of 105 is below par for a target 380+... and therefore care less about his century.

At least he got a century and got us over 300 mark. 380 is not reachable by any means

So in other words you are saying he batted for shomman jonok porajoy.
If that is our intention from the experienced players, how dare we dream to go to the semifinal? With this kind of mentality (of our players) we should be happy if we make it #6 or #7.
