The pitch in this ground will be more to Bangladesh's liking, it will have much less assistance for the fast bowlers compared to the last game.

I watched the repeat of the first ODI online, the full game. Eventhough we lost the match, I have to say I was somewhat pleased with our players attitude, especially the openers. Here are some of the positives from my view point:
1) They didn't try to score quick runs. Tamim was quite calm. His shot selection was pretty good. The pair got us off to a good start.
2) SN was smart also with his short selections. When there was one slip, he cleverly guided the ball with his bat pass the slip. Tamim was trying to play the same shot and got out. He needs to work on his range of shots.
3) They rotated the strikes taking singles quite frequently. Something I haven't seen from them for a while. This continued with the rest of the batsmen. Thats one of the key aspects of our game. Good to see them improving in that department.
4) Apart from losing early wickets, the boys kept going till the last ball. At one point we needed 87 runs of 84 balls. Thats easily gettable in ODIs. Eventually when we were all out, our score was 164 and we played 40 overs. Thats more than the Lankans at that stage and we were right on target.
I don't wanna dwell on the shambolic peformances from some of our stars but I hope they will bounce back. Seeing them rotating the strikes really pleased me. If they can avoid losing too many wickets and play with the same attitude I am sure they will pull something out of the next two ODIs.
Good luck boys. See you all on Monday morning.

I do agree with damal chele, I appreciate the positives in this game, but i would like to concentrate on one negative aspect, which is being repeated by bd team. When a wicket falls, they don't know what to do. If they can learn to stabilize the innings after the fall of a wicket, I think we can expect a lot better result in next two games.
Good luck to Ash & the team

How come the match is on Monday? The tour itinerary shown in the front page of BC says that the second match is on 22nd. If that's right, then the match will be held tomorrow.

I like the optimism of damalchele and anyway why does ut say 22nd on banglacricket? which one is correct, it doesnt have to mean cricinfo is right.

Because no one knows.
I'm also confused like many about the game date. In our front page we see 22nd July, but CI says 23rd. So, the game is not starting in 18 hours, but 1 day and 18 hours?

CHANCES DON'T COME ALWAYS !! We missed a golden opportunity to beat the mighty LANKANS. I am not optimistic about the 2nd ODI.
