I doubt there will be 5 days of cricket. this is monsoon season in lanka and there is atleast 3 days of showers predicted. I believe there would be max 200 overs bowled in 5 days.so i guess bd would be lucky to get away with a draw.

Be on the look out for a interruption of play, Rupavahini TV (Sri Lanka) is predicting 80% chance for showers.

Sinhalese Sports Ground has same drainage standard like Mirpur. So in case of the heaviest shower it would probably take 2 hours to get the ground dry and playable. So, as long as it's not raining during play time rain is not a concern.

Latest updates on our team:

So Mehrab Jr. might make a test debut as Javed has fever and does not recover. I am surprised to see Musfiq is not in final eleven.

My understanding is that the game starts at 0545 BST [ 0445 GMT ]. Or, does the TV transmission start then ?

For once, I would not comment on the chosen XI.
Like the good Irishman, I would say that if were going to Cork, I wouldn't be starting from here !

Mushfiq not playing shows that the [ tour ] selectors are not voting for him for the wicket-keepers position. Clearly, their confidence in his ability, at the moment, leaves something to be desired.
They see Mushfiq day in and day out far closely than me. I suppose they notice things which I sitting in my living room can not see except in match days.
This raises the obvious question: if Mushfiq cannot come in purely as a batsman [ there are many, including me, who will support his inclusion as a batsman ], then either he has to rapidly improve as a keeper and keep out any other potential successor to Mashud or he does not play in tests at all. However, given the attitude we show in batting in tests, it is difficult to contemplate that.
I hope his keeping improves especially to spinners. However, if the selectors believe that Mashud is still the best keeper, then they would be correct in selecting him. After all, the best keeper must be selected in tests. In the pyjama game other considerations may come in.
