Thanks for opening the thread, do not forget the cautious assessment by the captain about our expectations.

Translation for those who are curious:

Quote:
Before starting another chapter in the world cup journey in English soil after 20 years, Mashrafee in a press conference Repeatedly emphasized the Harsh reality: "Many folks are thinking we will win the world cup; or reach the semis. this is unnecessary. There is absolutely no way we are favorites in this tournament. The wicket and even if you talk about tomorrow's match: South Africa are starting as favorites against us. By the same token, we are aiming to play our Best Cricket. we came prepared, of course we are playing to win. To get good results. we are not thinking or aiming to surrender the match. unnecessary expectations have been created. we are actually behind in all departments. All the bigshot Cricket Analysts have written us off. However, we are picking our battles"

Honestly, I personally think the pitches are still very good for batting. It's just that high quality seam bowling has allowed Pakistan and Sri Lanka to be bundled out cheaply. with that being said, Scoreboard pressure especially in a world cup match, matters a lot. remember, last World cup Bangladesh only posted 270 odd against England and defended it(it was a knockout match for them). Weather is expected to be cloudy throughout the day so seam movement and swing will definitely come into play. It may be worth considering an extra seamer.

I'm worried about Amla & Du Plessis, these 2 failed in 1st game, u don't expect them to fail twice in a row.
Anyway, Allah bhorsha

Amla and Steyn not playing I heard.

Anyways, if the Oval pitch is slow/sluggish like their last game then we should definitely bat first and back our bowlers

Tomorrow is the day the World Cup finally begins for me. It's hard to get excited unless Bangladesh is playing. Barring injuries to key players BD is one of the five teams capable of winning it all in my view. Other ones are Eng, Aus, Ind and WI. Let's go tigers

If we win toss, we should bowl first. Most teams chasing have won and Bangladesh has been doing well chasing.

That’s my XI as well. I will take Mosaddek in place of Mithun.

Would be a shame if that happens. Should see if Shakib can bat at 4 to accomodate him or replace Mithun/mosa for him
