Frankly, reading this post makes me realize (not wonder), that some people have poor comprehension skills and refuse to view things without their bias-goggles.
Why is it condescending to have an expectation that the Indian team is a heavy favorite for this test? How is it condescending to say that if BD crosses 350 against a quality opponent playing in their own home conditions, that will be a sign of progress? Is it because an Indian is saying it to a Bangladeshi? Insecure much?
If you can't comprehend a post that is a detail filled attempt at discussing test cricket - then I can only feel pity for you.

Ben Stokes is a very useful test cricketer. He is a proven batsman who can bowl a good chunk of overs and has the happy knack of picking up wickets infrequently. A team with a player like Stokes will always find it easy to be competitive in test cricket - because a player of his type makes the bowling line-up better than the sum of its parts, without weakening the batting.
Now to Pandya - he has done nothing in test cricket yet. And so far, his batting, while very useful at #7 in LOI cricket, has shown enough techical chinks to need a lot of work before he can be effective in test cricket.
Sure he shows a lot of promise, and nobody's saying that he should restrict his "target". Point is, that even if does worse than Stokes, he can still be a value-add for the Indian test team.

My needless attack was a direct response to yours 'Seems like this guy doesn't quite understand'.
Not being able to match Stokes doesn't make him a poor man's version of it, he can be on a similar level without being a poor man's version of something, let me put it in Indian terms, Kohli is no Sachin, but he's not a poor man's Sachin, he's a great player, just not Sachin, Pandya doesn't have to be as good as Stokes, but he can still be a decent player
A poor man's Stokes in my opinion is not good enough for test cricket especially not for India

Chalk it up to a misunderstanding then. Let's stick to the topic. Any thoughts on my previous post? What are you looking for from the BD team in this test? Apart from the obvious.

Like it. They should say more, this is the only way BD will be fire up...if they do, India will be ******** front of the world and to their crowd and media. Let's start the game tomorrow, we will see who's going to smile last.

I'm very fortunate in that sense, otherwise, I would have been in trouble like uni days.
BTW, any link available yet for live streaming? Nowadays Hotstar blocks my VPN.

If we can fight hard, take the match into a 5th day I'll be happy. This the #1 team in the world on their turf, with their umpires...will be the ultimate test for our boys.

I thought there will be international umpires for the Test match, with DRS.

Tests have neutral umpires.
But this post speaks a lot about the paranoia and siege mentality. Get well soon!

Ah, just to go on record...this is not the first time BC countdown clock had sync issues.
If we are to grow as a forum, then we need to make updates as soon as dates for a match are CONFIRMED.
I was intrigued by the name of the city in which this will be played...
Secunderabad, in the Indian state of Telangana.
That was in the description of the WillowTV slot

Hey man, I tried to find out who the umpires are.
Do you know how to find the info?
I don't follow Indian cricket much, is it listed anywhere, the umpires for BDvIND match?
Thanks,

Not sure if Cricinfo would have umpire info. But its been established practice since the 1990s to have neutral umpires for test matches.

That's where the warm-up game was AFAIK. Test is in Hyderabad, I believe. Both these cities are right next to each other.

Nationality doesn't preclude bias, especially if there is a concern for job security. Just saying, but after the Taskin "chucking" saga, anything is possible.

But that reminds me...so guys which of our players will get banned after this match and for what reason?
Taskin - obviously for re-chucking as his action hasn't changed from the first time he was reported
Seriousness aside here are my not so bold predictions
Shubashish - for running on the pitch
Tamim - for sledging
Mushfiq - for illegal celebratory action
Soumya - illegal resemblence to Ganguly
Shafiul - illegal attempt at wearing the jheri curl
Mominul - suspiciously high batting average...check his bat

Oh yes, Taskin "not quite as good as Hardik Pandya" is such a big threat, it required a kaanspiracii to stop him.

Google tells me that it is a twin city of Hyderabad.
And the name of the ground they're going to be playing is called Gymkhana Ground.
Wikipedia backs up Google.

Definitely. Both teams will be out to prove and demonstrate a few things - both are bit of a work-in-progress. Like I said in my lengthy post above, I'm expecting the Indian pace bowlers to get the job done this game. Nobody can predict the future - that's why they play the game!
And even in the worst case scenario, what's important is to keep in mind that playing against stronger opponents is always an opportunity to get stronger. Indian teams in the past always raised their game a bit after an away tour down under.
Apparently your boys are playing SL next? SL's batting lineup is really going through a serious re-build. And even their bowling is over-reliant on Herath. That series will really be an opportunity for BD to get some positive results.

Yeah, I think our main focus is SL. This one of test is like a preparation to be honest.
most of us fans believe we have strong chance against Sri Lanka, hopefully we can somehow manage a series win.. would be amazing.
Playing against India is big, and it sometimes gets the best out of our players,
so even though its one of preparation, it will be very competitive..

AK, the warm-up game was at the Gymkhana ground. That's not even an accredited test venue. Test will be at RGI stadium Hyderabad.
