Default Life after Shakib

Pathetic to say the least.

Well, timing of his ban is such that he can't be selected for T20I WC'20 that starts in mid October in Australia. Funny thing is that we have another T20I WC next year in India (ICC converted 8 team T20I CT into another 16 team WC). So, this year we will have to build a team without him, next year hopefully he will return to reinforce it.

Meanwhile, Shakib is enjoying his life out there, still has a sponsor!

Life with Shakib gave us a whitewash in Srilanka and a home test defeat against AFG, what else do you want

Shakib is a brilliant individual player, but the sad truth is Bangladesh are no more marketable as a brand as they were in 2005. No away tours to England and Australia proves that. The only thing that will change that is some big performances in 2-3 ICC events. But for that we need fast bowlers and a wrist spinner. Not an array of finger spinners.

Shakib will be back. This ban which means his off cricket for a time which gives him some to rest could/might be a blessing in disguise for him and do him world of good for the future. He has carried the team for long time alone, bowling long spells, batting with all the pressure most times, being the main man for many years.

Shakib Al Hasan, will be back and will be fitter and stronger than before.
