What keeps Tamim, also it might not be like that they would retire from all formats.

Because we went from being a minnow in all formats to where we're now. It's a good thing. It means every new generation of players offers better players than a few in the current teams.

That is my point, its hard to even guess who will be in our team in 8 years, heck we might even have players from the one after the next batch of U-19 kids.

The nature of our system is such that every year there will be new names. So to me its even hard to predict the line-up we ll have in 4 years.

Currently Nasir is only 24 years old and you think he cant make the future side? This is the type of thinking that has hindered our progress in cricket.

Nasir is young enough but with all the up coming talent and his dip in performance the last couple of years it makes it a lot easier to see some youngster leapfrog him. I think nasir plays in a tough role though and batting that low you need to give a bit more leniency than for others higher up the order (unless you have a bevan or a hussey or a dhonI).

shanto, pinak ghosh and saifuddin would probably do better for Bangladesh (in 5 years) than miraz...

miraz is a utility cricketer but he is not the best in either batting or bowling......

Shanto is the find of this u19 world cup... I see future sanga in him (u guys would crucify me for saying it but I stick to my assesment). Saifuddin will be a brilliant bowler if he can add another 10km pace to his faster deliveries...

You are not giving enough credit to the player of the tournament. Something you dont have to the best in batting or bowling. Mental strength and application often makes a player, and thats what Miraz has. Shakib wasnt the best in bowling or batting either. But he was fearless and had a strong mindset.

Shanto is brilliant. The way he flicks the ball, how he plays late-pure natural talent. Hope he turns into sth special.

Trend is that subsequent generation of players we are churning out are getting better, hungrier and much more dedicated. Current Nasir can't even hold a bat properly, he is most likely to get replaced in the long run by much better players like Miraz or Mossadek. You also can't have team with all 3 of them, since they are all-rounders, you will need specialist batsmen.

That's not the point. The point is Nasir isn't good enough now and I don't see him miraculously turning into a good enough player to keep the incoming players in the next 8 years out of the side.

This thread shows the volatility of the mindset of fans.

Mominul is one of the best batsmen we ever had. He is young and can serve for another 10-15 years easily. I don't see his name in most XI.

Mominul will be definitely be a key member in the test format. Seems like the type of player who could easily retire with an average of 40-45. Just wish he could also develop his ODI game.

Nasir's still got time to turn things around. But he doesnt pick up in the next year or so, he ll probably disappear like the Aftab Ahmed's, Tushar Imran's, Rajin Saleh's.

Nice to see Anamul has hit 12 sixes already in DPL, 4 more than the next highest.

The guy has this uncanny ability to dance down the track and clear the fence with ease.
