Except for পাগল and শিশু, no one believes that we are going anywhere in test cricket. I try very hard to be positive, but to believe that Bangladesh has any future especially in test cricket after experiencing two decades of mediocrity and humiliation, I have to be a delusional, which I don't want to be.

BD is so poor and uninspiring as a test team that even a supremely self motivated player like Virat Kohli find it hard to remain interested in the game and dropped a catch.

Call me a self hating fan/deshi, but BD test team has been a DISGRACE for test cricket.

Fielding is the only way we may show some fighting, most Asian teams including Ind lack in this area.
This is what I said before the match and it is still valid when they come back tomorrow.
Indian fielding was hilarious and BD so far showing no capability in any departments. Was Hathuri better than Domingo?

So when all expert commentator and even opposition captain saying bowling first would have been ideal. Our captain decided to bat first. What was the logic reasoning behind this.

Batting first had risks, but was the right call. The brave call. The best and only chance that BD had to be competitive in this test was to bat first. On this wicket, Bangladesh did not have the bowling firepower to restrict India to a par score, forget below par. The obvious choice was to take the brave call, try to get past the new ball, and give the batting line-up an opportunity to bat without scoreboard pressure and put a total on the board.

The batsmen failed to do so, but to be fair, this Indian bowling attack isn't easy to face. Even South Africa couldn't handle the heat.

He meant your FAST BOWLING unit. Bedi, Kumble, chandra, Prasanna were good bowlers indeed but they were spinners. Al-Furqaan probably meant it took India ages to find an impressive fast bowling unit instead of the trundlers of days gone past.

I don't think Kapil, Srinath, Zaheer were 'trundlers'. Srinath in fact was the fastest around in his prime. But anyway, speedgun numbers are the fixation for pimply faced teenagers. Test cricket is about effective bowling. And India has had effective test bowling units plenty of times.

It took 50 odd tests for India to win its 5th away test match. Hopefully Bangladesh can manage it by its 200th.

You were never going to compete in India though.

Afghanistan and Zimbabwe beating you in home tests is what should have set the alarm bells ringing.

If you can't accept backhanded compliments, don't be the world's largest exporter of them. Who was the last Indian poster here who did not either traffic in outright trolling or blatant condescension?

There's 1.3 billion Indians on this little blue planet. And no we are not all related. You are free to discuss my posts with me. I don't care or represent others.

If you want to be differentiated maybe don't all think and sound the same. Disconnect from the hivemind.

it was tough batting conditions tbf. I'd have been happy if they crawled to 200. Boys gotta hang in there. Gotta take the catches.

^that is true. But also, Indian quicks were making the ball talk (there's a statement no one ever thought would ever be said). Had we bowled first, Jayed and Ebadat wouldn't have created the same type of pressure/chances. So far Jayed has created 2 chances, 1 dropped. Ebadat has only kept it tight from his end. Fair enough, one of those guys may have to just keep his end quiet.

You take Smith out of the Aussie side and we saw how poor they were for those 12 months. Instantly such a strong team once Smith came back.

You take 2-in-1 Shakib out, Tamim out, Mosaddek out and play deadweights like Imrul, Mithun, and Liton of course we will struggle. On top of that the spinners can only bowl stock balls and arm balls. If you don't have a leggie, then you need more variations as Ashwin showed.

I just want to see Jayed and Ebadat continue to bowl tight lines and make run scoring difficult.
