BDFlag +Afif Hossain Dhrubo's Official Thread+

Only 17 years 159 days old, and already 2 centuries in his first 3 First-class matches. He is a left-handed opening batsmen, and we've already a glimpse of his T20 debut where he took 5/21-- to become the youngest bowler to take a five-wicket haul in T20s.

Who is Afif Hossain?

********

Keep up the good work young Tiger!!!!

I think you guys are mistaking Afif for Pinak...he's the guy closest to Tamim.

^^ Tentative start date for Emerging cup is March 25, ie overlaps with ODI series in SL. So, selectors will have to decide on the ODI squad first. I am assuming they will declare the both squad on March 19 or 20.

He is a talented future.. and of course emerging cup might give him the way to knock the national door. He's some one who can bat and bowl.. which bd needs player like him to fill up the flop gaps in the squad. Soon player like Kaye's, Riad will be dropped and if he can perform consistently, it won't be too long wait .. my prayer with him... go ae dil hai afif.

i feel there are many afif's and mehedi's around the lower grades of Bangladesh. But Afif has some sort of connections which allowed him to make his BPL debut. But without a doubt he has made most of his opportunities and is doing really well.

yeah his bowling is nothing special. he is a batsman first.

I think his 5 wks were like aftab's 5 wks vs NZ.

it will be great if he can become an allrounder but I dont want to see another naeem like player. I hope he concentrate on his batting more

Consistency is the key. If he can maintain that, and balance the bowling with batting, then we can see him following the path of someone like Steve Smith. ..

may be one for future but still long way to go. I don't want anymore young raw talent quickly get into national squad which we did in the past so did destroyed many of them. At least these guys should play more domestics, reach the age of 24 pus, if by then they still playing consistently, probably then can be considered for national call up. not before that. Of course, if someone is talent with tendulkar or kohli then case is different.

Just missed out on a century.

94 with 10x4, 3x6.

Scoring Rate might have been a little on the slow slow, but gotta give respect to the bowlers from the opposition team consisting of Arafat Sunny, farhad reza,

He looks very promising, but not sure why they batting him so low?

sometimes I don't understand what domestic teams try to do.

Guys, watch this video at 7:07 mark. Afif played a switch hit for 6. Must admit I don't think I have seen such audacity from a Bangladeshi batsman, he is only 17 guys... only 17. What a talent! Still will say that he needs to gain muscle, and he needs to perform first in the upcoming u-19 WC. But I think we are fast approaching another player that is going to be knocking on the national team very soon (I will give another 2 years for him to mature though)
