Default BPL Standouts (Local Players)

Batsmen:

Mominul
Zakir Hasan
Anamul
Ariful

Bowlers:

AH Rony
Abul
Abu Jayed
Hossain Ali (19 and bowls 140+)
Afif

It's unfortunate knowing best case scenario only one of these players will get a chance in the national side because of cost cutting reasons

It never had anything to with cost cutting.

It had to do with haturu and his nonsense selection. He literally asked Mehedi to gtfo despite Maruf doing so well in BPL

It's always had to do with cost cutting every series away we do this maybe you haven't noticed.. no one gets sent abroad for just T20s.

People were creaming their pants at Taskin's clip on youtube when he was 19 but someone bowling as quick in BPL at 19 gets discarded instantly lol. As a nation we are scarce of genuine pace.. so someone unkown, young and somewhat quick is instantly a standout whether you agree or or not..maybe standout isn't the right word for him prospect is.

For me Zakir. Exactly what you need in T20, so was Maruf last year. And if you ain’t going to give a bloke whos done well in your premier T20 league, a chance in the international arena then how will it motivate the player? What does it do to their confidence?
Despite lacking t20i such explosive batsmen, not that the IT20 has all sides covered. Maruf still didn’t get a single game, but Kayes and even Litton das gets it even though we all remember he couldn’t do anything last BPL, in the T20 format. Just too much inconsistency from selectors/management.

You missed Imrul, currently the top local batsman and #3 among all BPL batsmen.

Because Maruf was actually sent to NZ along with Shanto. Shanto prematuredly played a test match in kiwiland and Maruf layer asked to go home

Mahedi handled Gayle-McCullum well today!

With Mehedi, Mahedi, Afif, and Nayeem, we suddenly have a good pipeline of OBs who are decent bats too!

The issue is apart from Nayeem none of them are specialist offies or bowling allrounder for that matter. We need someone who will concentrate mainly on bowling

mahedi is not specialized bowler? If not, he should take his bowling more seriously the way he bowled today. And so should BCB, that is monitor/guide these players....because he has potential as a bowler.

Mahedi first came in the limelight as an opener for Khulna in NCL couple of years ago. But, since last DPL, he seems to be focusing more on bowling. Salahuddin has been mentoring him and keeping him in whichever domestic team he coaches for last two seasons.

Hossain Ali's three wickets. He seems to lack balance at the point of release. That may be a contributing factor why he bowls wayward.

Slower than and shorter than many other Bangladeshi pacers, but I think AH Rony is the best pacer in our domestics atp, at least in LOI.

Rony is slow but not super short. he's 5'11" like Fizz. Hossain Ali is just raw. Expected of a 19 yo...I think he's also trying to bowl faster than his natural pace hence the spraycan.

^^ Fizz is leaning here, Rony still looks way shorter than him:

He is more like Kulasekara height, who is 5'8"

Abu Jayed is the other local pacer doing well in BPL. But I don't really like his action, especially his run up (not smooth), seems to lack control. He is giving more runs away this edition comparing to last year, though taking more wickets.

He looks closer to 5-10 in that pic...ie an inch shorter than Fizz. Might just be the angle tho. Will try to find more pics.

Jayed has a nice action...run up is not smooth as has been noted. But he lacks pace and is also too short to make an impact.

Abu Jayed had been performing in every game.

Abul Hasan has been inspired by the lack of quality pace bowling at the top of BD cricket.

M. Mithun has been the best BD keeper on display, Jahurul and Nurul comes close. Followed by Litton, and the Test captain
