Default Bangladesh tour of Pakistan 2020

Still not confirmed. Pulling out now will probably mean the end of PAK-BD cricketing ties for good for the forseeable future.

BCB wants to play T20 in PAK meaning the expect security clearance, but also meaning they can't make the claim that PAK is unsafe for tests.

They are know asking the ICC for guidance, but what is the ICC going to do? They can't force the BCB to tour, and at the same time will say if you refuse then you will have to forfeit your points in the Test league table.

My feeling is, BCB will eventually agree to PCB terms, but trying to get the series hosted in UAE. Which is fine IMO.

PCB said it's not economically feasible to host weak countries outside PAK.
This arrogance deserves a slap.

There is nothing arrogant here, why would they lose millions of dollars?

Are you sure Pakistan would have bring out this reason and force the opposition to agree if it was some other formidable country in place of Bangladesh?

I am not denying the cost by the way.

Test cricket itself is not economically feasible, let alone playing our sorry arse team. Let's be honest, do you yourself even watch a full test match of our boys? Icc needs to build the coffin and burry this format for good.

BCB is being stupid here, Lanka is already touring without a problem, so the excuse here does not make any sense. I don't particularly like the fact that PCB is harassing BCB and treated us poorly in the past/still are, but BCB's excuse has no validation this time around. 2 boards, run by idiots, acting like kindergarden kids.

Maybe instead of worrying so much about taking revenge with PCB, BCB should put some of that time and energy and getting this team out of this rough patch.

BCB are a bunch of idiots, what leg can you stand on if you're sending the team to play T20s but not tests.

We have been sending the junior teams and women's team for the past few years without a whisper so we lost the unsafe excuse a long time ago.

The BCB are helmed by a bunch of incompetent losers. The cash-strapped w**k-faces at the PCB are controlling the media narrative everyday (statements by Misbah, Azhar, Eshan Mani, etc), and our lot are countering with diddly freaking squat. If we don't have a leg to stand on can we just agree to tests in Pakistan already? Like, what argument do we even have any more? We already shot ourselves in the foot when we sent youth and women's team to that country.

Hell, they could have even asked to break the tour up in two parts like Lanka did instead of this idiocy.

Like Azhar Ali said, both Bangladesh and Pakistan need to play more Test matches. Why in the world would send the team for T20Is only?!!!

As for safety, Pakistan currently is not any less safe than England or Australia.

I wouldnt say they are as safe as white countries, but probably safe enough to tour if Lanka went. I just dont want our team to be their lab rats, and with ZIM and SL fulfilling that role, BD should tour if the security arrangements meet international standards.

I like BD to visit Pakistan because it will help cricket of both countries. But I agree about Pakistan's arrogance. Pakistan hosted Sri Lanka, WI in UAE , but whenever it comes to Bangladesh it says it is not economically feasible (not even ODI). How a series against Sri Lanka in UAE is feasible and against Bangladesh is not feasible. TV rating will be higher (because BD has a higher population than SL), computer will have more hits, newspaper articles on the matches will be read by more people (hence more ad money), There are richer Bangladeshi companies compared to SL for sponsorship and there are more BD people live in UAE.

Also, once BD canceled a Pakistan tour at the last minute , but paid penalty later. On the other hand Pakistan also canceled a BD series at the last minute without compensation or apology.

Finally, if you see the degrading comments of Pakistani cricket fans in PakPassion forum, you will not feel like going there. After all dignity is more important than cricket.

SL took their time. First they sent their T20 team ( half of the player of the national team did not go for security concerns). After that their players gained the confidence to go for Tests. Besides all of SL coaching stuff agreed to go, because they used to live in Pakistan . No BD coaches will go to Pakistan. One SL player also said that it is tough to stay inside the hotel only for a longer period of time.

Also, tour of the men's team is less safe than the women or U-16 teams, because they are more high profile and the probability of becoming a target is much higher. The extremists usually target high profile teams for more coverage.

You are missing the point. BCB either tells them straight, let us tour for the t20 first and then we will decide if we want to tour for a full test series or ask them to shift the whole series in a neutral venue. Not this half in pak, half in neutral. This is a terrible way to negotiate. P*ssy footing around the whole issue here.

I think that's what they are saying (please note BCB's official statement is not out yet):

http://sportsalert.org/2019/12/24/t2...pakistan-tour/

“Pakistan will definitely try for the full return of international cricket to their country. We have to take into account the views of our players and members of our team management, who are foreigners,” Chowdhury said. “The match environment is also important to us. Relevant stakeholders’ view is also important, regarding a longer tour to Pakistan.

“Our primary proposal is to play three T20Is in a shorter period so that players and team management can do a proper assessment of the situation there.”

Well Said Aamir! We fixed that 1999 World Cup game against Bangladesh, so they could get Test Status. We broke the law so they can lose Test matches, the ungrateful bastards.

^ The problem with that is, BCB needs to Officially convey that message to PCB. Instead they told them half in pak, half in neutral. These infos are all from media themselves. Either way, I highly doubt its as dangerous people are making it out to be. Infact, safe to play cricket, a potential terrorist lunatic could pop up even in BD or anywhere in the world these days.

Also, are you surprised by the derogatory comments by these pak members? Behind the closed doors, 'MAJORITY' are racist towards our people and thinks they are superior, just like how 'Majority' if people from BD are towards them for obvious reasons (behind the closed door of course LOL).

sorry bro, if BCB decided not to come thn its fine. but few tweets or some other forum members posts doesnt reflect the majority of the country, every country has some racist people, i am sure everyone knows that. posting selective degrading remarks wont help the situation for both side of people.

Yeah, well except when Pak cancelled tour to BD, we didn't make much derogatory statements.

They would take our darkest player and generalize it to all BD players and people.

They feel a sense of entitlement. On twitter I came across Pakistanis that were adamant pakistanis were beautiful and bangladeshis are extremely ugly and aspire to look like pakistanis. It was disturbing rhetoric.
