সাংবাদিকঃ ত দ্বিতীয় বারের মত আবাহনীর নিকট পরাজিত হলেন।
আশরাফুলঃ হ্যাঁ, Thanks to Allah, তবে আমরা দিন দিন উন্নতি করছি।

সাংবাদিকঃ উন্নতি? উন্নতির meaning টা চেঞ্জ হয়ে যায়নি তো আবার?
আশরাফুলঃ উন্নতি কখনো কখনো আপনারা দেখতে পান না, কিন্তু আমি পাই। কারণ আমি অধিনায়ক। আর উন্নতি মানে কেবল রান করা, উইকেট নেয়া আর জয় পরাজয় নয়। এই যে ছেলেরা আজকাল পজিটভ মাইন্ডে খেলতে নামে। এটা এক ধরণের পজিটিভ, উন্নতি।

সাংবাদিকঃ মাত্র ১৩৩ রানে অলাউট হয়ে গেলেন, এটাকে কীভাবে ব্যাখ্যা করবেন?
আসশরাফুলঃ এটা আসলে আইপিএল এর প্রভাব। টিভি খুললে, সংবাদপত্র খুললেই চোখে পড়ে আইপিএল। ছেলেরা তাই দিবা নিশি স্বয়নে-স্বপনে আইপিএল এর ম্যাচের কথা চিন্তা করে। লীগের ম্যাচের দিন মাঠে নেমেও দিবাস্বপ্নের ঘোরে ম্যাচকে আইপিএল এর ২০-২০ ম্যাচ ভাবতে শুরু করে। আর এটাও এক ধরণের ঊন্নতি। কারণ এতে আইপিএল এর মত বাংলাদেশেও বিপিএল, মানে বাংলাদেশ প্রিমিয়ার লীগ এর সম্ভাবনা আমরা উজ্জ্বল করে তুলছি।

সাংবাদিকঃ চমৎকার আইডিয়া আধিনায়ক সাহেব, এবার দয়া করে আপনার প্যারফর্ম্যান্স সম্পর্কে দুটি কথা বলুন।
আশরাফুলঃ আসলে আমরা সবাই টিম রুল ফলো করি। টিম রুল ছিল “I score 30, you score 30, we win the match”. সে হিসেবে আপনি দেখেন আমি আর আফতাব দুজনেই ৩০ এর খুব কাছাকাছি রান করেছি। বাকি ব্যাটসম্যানরা টিম রুল ফলো করতে ব্যার্থ হয়েছে।

সাংবাদিকঃ হুম, বুঝলাম, এবার একটু অন্য প্রসঙ্গে আসি। দেশের মানুষ কিন্তু আপনাদের এই দুর্বোধ্য টিম রুল এর দাঁত-ভাঙ্গা ব্যাখ্যা বুঝতে পারে না। আপনাদের ব্যাটে রান না দেখে তারা যে আস্তে আস্তে আপনাদের ব্যাপারে আগ্রহ হারিয়ে ফেলছে তা কি আপনারা মাথায় রাখেন?
আশরাফুলঃ দেখুন সাংবাদিক সাহেব, এটা মাথায় রাখার মত কোন ব্যাপার হল। মানুষের রিজিক হল আল্লাহর হাতে। দেখেন, সুন্দর বনে আল্লাহ বাঘও দিয়েছেন, আবার হরিণও দিয়েছেন। দুটোই এক জায়গায় তার কারণটা কী জানেন?

সাংবাদিকঃ না জানি না।
আশ্রাফুলঃ কারণটা হল, হরিণ হল বাঘের খাদ্য। তেমনিভাবে, আমারা ক্রিকেটাররা হলাম বাঘ। আর ফ্যানদের টাকা হল আমাদের খাবার। সুতরাং ফ্যানরা হল হরিণ। সুন্দরবনে বাঘ হরিণের উপর যতই অত্যাচার করুক না কেন, হরিণ কী কখনো সুন্দরবন ছেড়ে পালাবার চেষ্টা করে? করে না। কারণ পালিয়ে যাবে কই? সেরকম, আমরা যতই খারাপ খেলি না কেন, বাঘদের পাশে ফ্যান মানে হরিণ থাকবেই। আমাদের কখনো ছেড়ে যাবে না। হাহাহা...

সাংবাদিকঃ ফ্যানদের কথা, সরি, মানে হরিণদের ব্যাপারটা না হয় বুঝলাম। কিন্তু আপনার মোনালিসা যদি তার মন থাকে আপনাকে kick মেরে বের করে দেয়, তখন কী করবেন?
আশ্রাফুলঃ খুবই গুরুত্বপুর্ণ এই ব্যাপারটা। তবে সাংবাদিক ভাই, আপনার জানা উচিৎ যে আজকাল মেয়েরা টাকা পেলেই খুশি থাকে। আমি তো চেকের পর চেক তার হাতে তুলে দিচ্ছি। কত রান করলাম, তার চেয়ে কত টাকা কামালাম, সেটাই মোনালিসার কাছে বড়।

সাংবাদিকঃ হা, বাপকা ব্যাটা, সিপাইকা ঘোরা, আর আশরাফুল্কা মোনালিসা। চিন্তার আর কিছু নাই।

সাংবাদিকঃ বাকী ম্যাচগুলোর পরিকল্পনার কথা কী কিছু বলবেন?
আশরাফুলঃ প্রথমেই মোনালিসাকে টেলিফোন করে জিজ্ঞেস করব যে সে আমার ব্যাট থেকে কত রান চায়। সে বেশি কেয়ার করে না ঠিক, তবে আমি জিজ্ঞেস করি। সে যত রান করতে বলবে, তত রান করতে পারলেই সন্তুষ্ট থাকব।

let every player focus on batting, bowling, and fielding. the bowler will set the field he wants every over, and the coach can do the batting order.

no improvement what so ever in his approach......can't figure out why he is not ready to stuck in the crease and work hard for his runs....why ruining the skills by playing like this......after 100+ ODI's as this is the case.....really....when he will learn or ever learn?
