This match has been nothing but HUMILIATION. And whatever remains of it is also humiliation.

Congrats Hon'ble MP Papon khaluji, GOAT Shakib, Shoejon Chacha, and BD team. Well Done!

the way afghans playing this test seems they have done very hard work ahead of this, whereas our team looks like they thought it would be a picnic in the park. what a shame that our management and team lack professionalism!!

Is this zadran guy really 17 years old? He seems to have a great matured head on this shoulder.

I highly doubt every single player in Bangladesh Under-19 team is actually under-19. Let's not throw stones from a glass house.

At the same time, yeah I am not entirely convinced about Rashid Khan and Ibrahim Zadran are actually of the age they claim to be, their appearances are just too conspicuous to ignore (Probably falsified by 4+ years). Its a shame because they go on to create records with a fake age making them impossible to break if a cricketer is using their legitimate birth date.

Afghanistan might as well just declare now to humiliate us. They are winning by 100+ runs as is.

Poor team selection not going with a single pacer, and a sh*t pitch that ended up favouring the Afghan team more than us. Because surprise, they have better quality spinners than us. We could barely scrape 200 in our first innings with 8 recognised batsmen.

We should forfeit this test match to teach these age bandits a lesson.

The famous Atahar Ali Khan line of "batting deep" during the World Cup seems to have aged like milk already.

Also the official Bangladesh Cricket Team Facebook page listed Soumya Sarker as an all-rounder.
Maybe use his fast bowling skills to sweep the Afghan tail end like Mitch Starc.

From CI

Quote:
Andran: "So after over 20 years in international cricket, what is bangladesh's excuse for still struggling so badly in the test arena and not being able to find a single decent and pace bowler for test matches? Afghanistan have only existed as a test nation for a couple of years and have a lot more promise and given more exposure to test matches/ODI's, will probably overtake bangladesh very soon. So what excuse do bangladesh want to use now? " -- I'll leave this for all Bangladesh fans to answer. Share your thoughts!

I don't see why they didn't pick Taskin, he did very well on the practice match.

We are into this match without any strike bowler and struggling to clean up the tail.

**** how long does it take to get ball tracking and ultra edge? Rashid should declare after batting out the next over to end Day 3. Complete humiliation awaits us on Day 4. 150 run loss inevitable.

Also if we had Tamim, he would have definitely broken Lara's record and score 401* against these pesky AFGANs. Very bad timing to take vacation.

This is an old disease of Shakib. He did this in his last tenure as captain too. He probably thinks, only one kind of blowers are able to take wickets. He doesn't appreciate other varieties & their utility. He hasn't learnt in last almost 10 years.

I think, he shouldn't be the captain, he's not good in captaincy. He's a good individual performer, he should be allowed to play his game undisturbed. It happens with many good players, Tendulkar is a prime example.

Let's allow him to perform. Remove the burden of captaincy from him, even if we win this match. I'm not a pessimist & We can still win this match.

I agree. Let’s give due respect to them. They deserve it. It’s good for world cricket. Afghanistan just did not have a good World Cup due to internal politics. Otherwise they are a serious team at any format. Just wait and watch what will happen in T20 World Cup. They are my 2nd favourite team after Bangladesh.

Hopefully this loss will trigger Bangladesh cricket board to focus more at grassroots level coaching and prepare competitive pitches and play quality oppositions.

Dude its freaking Afghanistan. Bangladesh is not even an international standard team so the result is expected. Ireland can also beat Bangladesh.

False dawn.

This is the not the first time we have reached a nadir thinking it will wake us up from our slumber and force change from grassroot level.

Fact is - nothing will happen.

Fact is - we are happy with জোড়া তালি কাজ চলে in everything - be it development or cricket.

We are lazy in general. We are happy with mediocrity. Hard work, honesty, self-discipline - these qualities are in general are not present among majority of us.

India reached their nadir in 2011 WC. Look at where they are now.

England reached their nadir in 2015 WC. Look at where they are now.

We were lucky to have PonchoPandob for a while, registered a few home series wins and a couple of test wins, and thought we had turned a page. We did not. The skeleton of our pipeline has been exposed.

Soumya, Sabbir, Mosaddek, Miraz, and other new players have spent quite a few years in international arena - and been proven failure. Will Soumya and Shabbir get selected in a non-fav four team?
