I expected, and still do expect, a total blow out in the Test, but sheesh, this was probably pathetic. I can forgive the bowling being bad, entire first choice pace line-up injured, two of our better replacements also injured, complete rookie spinners being thrown into the deep end as we have no A cricket this year, but goddamn I expected more from the batting. Proper garbage.
I'm beggin ye prepare the flattest Test pitch of all time, if we get a turner it'll be over in two days as we haven't played a single FC game in five years. You can set the highest Test total of all time, we can scrape 400 combined in two innings and lose by a respectable 350 runs, everyone wins.
This is how Bangladesh was for many years and how many fans used to feel. Although the Irish have somethings that our players never had and some dont these days either: physical strength and guts.

Good to see you too! Bring back the smiley avatar haha
Haha nah. ICF I only signed up on for our 2015 WC game vs India iirc (first year in college, had very very little to be at evidently!) and haven't seen it in years (no intention either).
Haven't been a regular poster on PP for several years now but I'll pop in every few weeks see if I've been tagged in anything, otherwise only really visit for WC's or when Ireland do something noteworthy (or if Pakistan do something nuts again and I feel like browsing)

Result is not that important. It's always about getting the exposure and experience. Ireland doesn't play many of their games in the subcontinent. You have pretty solid T20 team. Stirling and Balbirnie are much better than our batsmen in T20.
Shamim is a really irrigating man to be around. He was teasing the Irish commentator that whether Ireland bring in the rain when Bangladesh put up a record total
At least he has stopped saying dal bhaat shot and senior statesmen.
Now everything to him is cow corner near long on. Eay hally jaibo ga kobe?

Not being tested so far. With England played a rather heavily depleted side.

it's all about a solid top order and everything falls into places.
Taskin bowling improved so much over the past couple of years. Top dawg right there.
I also agree batting hasn't been tested against better quality bowling either. Will see how fare against afghanistan
I am not familiar with Ireland team, but as per Donal, not only Ireland frontline pacers are injured, their backups are injured as well, ie they brought in a heavily depleted bowling side.
I can't believe Papon-Hathuru are pissing off IPL by holding back Shakib-Liton. We could have fielded Prime Bank Cricketers and still could have won the Test match against this Ireland team. Mithun probably would have been good enough to bully this depleted Irish bowling attack.
I also think for a series against Ireland the likes of Liton and Shakib should have been allowed to play IPL.
However looking at the state of the team , the team would have lost some games which would look bad for Haturi and the selectors although for the latter their nature is slimely anyways.
The likes of Talukdar. Hassan, Nasum and Yasir you have filth. Also there is a gamble with new players like Shamim and Hridoy.
Do you watch T20 cricket besides Bangladesh matches? Giving 16-18 runs in an odd over is not really that big of a deal in this format, it can happen to any bowler.
IMO, we found our core set of bowlers for the format, including both Hasan and Nasum. There is no better bowler out there. Tanvir with his quick darts may be successful on certain pitches, but may not be fit for all varieties. A taller Nasum can vary his length better, and has shown in last T20I world cup that he can be somewhat effective outside subcontinent as well. Ideally, we want a leggie instead of the second SLA on the playing XI, but that's a different story.

I am not so sure about Rony, his weakness against legspin was well exposed during England series. With two right handers at the top, Afghanistan should open with Rashid Khan against us.
For some opponents, it may be better if Shanto-Liton open and Shakib returns at #3.

He has absolutely no footwork and will be figured out against good bowlers..a domestic bully

He has his limitations, but so far he has shown the intelligence to play according to his strengths, something that more gifted batters like Soumya or Afif sorely lack.
A good analysis by Sami on Rony:
But, yeah, it remains to be seen, now that international bowlers have clips of his batting to be analyzed, how well he does in upcoming tours.
