Certainly, drop Dolor for his own sake. Nazim as well, looks like permanently.
Personally , I would not mind Ashraful actually opening, since effectively that is what he is doing. I don't mind the JS Rule imposed on him. I feel he is a more reliable batsman now. He can settle in a bit earlier. His 100 came because he went in very early and had time to settle in. Raquib settled in much better.
So, Nazim goes, SN comes back presumably. Any slower bowler comes in. I would drop Dolor and even Shahadat . If Shahadat is dropped then Musharraf comes in.
So:
Tamim
Ashraful
Mushfiq
Raquib
Nafees
Alok
Mahmudullah
Farhad
Murtaza
Razzak
Musharraf
Am I happy ? No.
This is an awfully weak squad even by our standards.Missing Rasel, Sakib and Aftab.

Tamim: 30-100.
Ash: 30-100.
Nirala: 30-80.
GoBoy: 0-30.
Abir: 10-25.
Ollie: 0-30.
Riyad: 10-50.
New MaMu: 5-35.
New Farhad: 0-15 (Old Farhad: 15-25).
Abdurrajjakraj: 15-35.
Rajib: 0-8.
240 certainly looks possible. No use talking about winning when that's not important to Sid and his Kids.. ![smile](images/smilies/smile.gif)

Can't believe that Ash takes such decisions without consulting JS !

We score 240 consistently and our shares of win will come eventually.

Bad decision with toss. But that doesn't justify Dollar and Shahadat's wayward bowling. Nothing to take from the game, not even a 50! Only thing should be a lesson to Ash, never choose fielding in a D/N match when you win the toss. God damn it, how many days you need to learn the basics???
There should not be any contempt on crossing 200+. SL did not play vass as the game was over way before. They debuted a Chamara as a bowler!!!

We had enough of Dollar. I am not sure why he was picked. The Econ for his List "A" is 6.49, and average is 72.33, which are really too high to be picked in the national team.
Shahadat is also very expansive for ODI. He never proved to be a good ODI bowler.
Nazimuddin- what can I say. Some players are not meant to be for international games.
Ashraful as a captain, I will always argue that he he is not a capable captain, at least up until now. Perhaps he needs a major psychotherapy.
We desperately need some players from Bangladesh A team.

Yeah, by then other major teams would be scoring 300+ consistently.
And as far as Dollar is concerned, linguists will delight in the fact that this is the first time the word "dollar" and "economy" doesn't go too well in one line. ![Nerd](images/smilies/nerd.gif)

Only positive I can take out of this match is that Mushfiq has shown he can be a better contributor if he bats higher in the order. I like to see him batting from #5 slot for the rest of the tournament. He will probably have to move down to #6 when Sakib comes back.
His keeping also seems to have improved.

yes, some of the positives from this match are that,
1. we got raqibul batting real well - mashallah,
2. ash also improved a good bit i believe,
3. mushfique held on and got some good runs and also kept well behind the wkt,
4. middle order started to build partnership,
5. lalla got his mojo back with both ball/bat - exactly what we need from him - congrats rajalla for your odi 100 wkts!!!!,
6. today mash held on with the bat we almost got SL all out and
7. although we scored a lot less, SL could not bowl us out and during our innings we lost less wkts than them!
8. improvement in our overall batting total appearence started to show.
SL is a very strong team and i am very respectfully appreciate that they support our cricket and play against us as often as they do....this is the only way we are going to learn inshallah, by losing many many more times, i accept it, now we just have to make it harder for them/anybody to win against us!
and we will meet again on monday, june 30, tuesday morning 6 o'clock(eastern), july 1.
my prediction is that we are playing against pakistan this saturday, sunday morning 6 o'clock(eastern), july 1.
and playing india friday the fourth of july (in reality)! for folks in the u.s. the game is on saturday morning 6 o'clock(eastern), july 5th.
in the u.s. you got two weekend games.

What a pathetic strategy... make sure you lose the match even before you start and then play safe to reach 200 run mark.
Losing margin? don't worry about the column!!! we have crossed 200 run mark and went close to 240... Yahoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! we are on track.

Truely pathetic.

Bring Sakib in as captain after his examination, I am done with Ash foolness. At least it will save us from mental suffer, other than losing a match. How much of logical analysis we can expect from a school boy? It's time for give up.

I can't say I was too disappointed with the way we batted. The game was almost over at the toss and we gave up the tiniest bit of hope that we might have had with the bowling. When we came into bat, we really should have looked to score as close to 300 as possible, but most of the guys did get a chance to spend some time in the middle against some pretty decent bowling and did get off to starts. Had this been another day, I would have been pissed, but given that we were already into the second round, practice was all that mattered once they went over the 350 mark.

226 against SRL not bad. we usually do pretty bad against the lankans. Even if the Target is 300 we should always target around 240-250. And if we do it more often once or twice we will get lucky.

What if UAE beat Sri lanka today? we won't make the next round, and it's quite possible this might happen...

I didn't think they will score over 150 yesterday but they end up with 226. which is awesome. i was surprised to see this when i came home.
we have scored over 200 runs 4 times in 4 consequtive games that too without shakib in the middle order. we have to give siddons some credits for this. if our batters become consistent then we will win many matches in the future, inshallah.
so think what will happen when shakib comes back. he will give us good 10 overs bowling.
and when rasel comes back in the next series, our bowling will become good as well as before.
i'm hopefull of the future. inshallah we will see some success.
