Comon my freind.. i m just making some fun.. okey??.. Offcoarse. he played well. but. yes. I realyl dont like him as a batsman...... His biggest problem.. he just doesnt have good enought technique as a batsman. He can just play on shot all the time. And. his greatest inablity.. rotating strike. In thisn ODI life.. that is one huge minus point as a batsman
But. Unfortunately... we still dotn have anyone who can take opener role. Nafis Iqbal is good but. he is just too fishy. That makes hiim very unstable. Since.. we really dotn have anyone else.. JO can be considered in this positon.
JO belonged to the generation who had so many flaws in both technique adn mentality. 4 years ago. he would have been one of the best.. but. now.. he is simply lagging. Trust me... once bd find one good opener.. Jo will be gone before you can even think.
No hard feelign man.

Well done Bangladesh !
Poor Kenya ! The four ODIs they played against Zimbabwe recently were the only cricket they had played for 18 months, before coming to Bangladesh. Their cricket administration was in a mess for a long time, they have lost players, Odumbe has been banned. Now they are far below what they used to be.
This is like an ant trying to fight an elephant ! Even the Bangladeshi U19 team will beat this Kenyan team easily.

No point leaving JO out. hez been one of our most consistent performers since last summer in england. no doubt nafis is one for the future but for some reason he seems like one of those players who need to be left out of the team for some time to grow up and mature as a player, just like they did with ash couple yrs back

Yes, you are right. He won't be selected in any other ODI team (excepting Zim or Kenya may be) but he is good enough for us at the moment.
But. Unfortunately... we still dotn have anyone who can take opener role. Nafis Iqbal is good but. he is just too fishy. That makes hiim very unstable. Since.. we really dotn have anyone else.. JO can be considered in this positon.
You said it.

Bangladesh race to emphatic win
Martin Williamson
March 20, 2006
Bangladesh 162 for 1 (Javed Omar 64*, Aftab Ahmed 59*) beat Kenya 161 (Syed Rasel 3-28) by nine wickets
Scorecard
Syed Rasel gets the decision against Kennedy Otieno © AFP
Bangladesh raced to a crushing nine-wicket win over Kenya in a woefully one-sided ODI at Khulna, taking a 2-0 lead in the four-match series and suggesting that a whitewash is on the cards. For the second time Kenya were a distant second best, outbowled and outbatted by a Bangladesh side whose confidence is growing series by series.
The pitch looked good for batting, even though it kept low throughout, and in contrast to the first match, a large crowd delighted in Bangladesh's success. Their only complaint would be that they did not witness any kind of contest.
Once again, the game was done and dusted by the halfway point after Kenya had failed to capitalise on winning the toss. Without Steve Tikolo, their captain and key player, who was sidelined with a viral infection, they needed a good start from an experienced top order. As it was, Syed Rasel, who had put the skids under their innings at Bogra, grabbed two more early wickets to reduce them to 25 for 3. From then on, Bangladesh were always on top.
David Obuya and Hitesh Modi briefly checked the slide, adding 49 for the fourth wicket before Mohammad Rafique got the benefit of a tight decision to dismiss Obuya lbw. Modi followed almost immediately, completely beaten by Abdur Razzak, and Kenya were facing another hefty defeat at 82 for 5.
The impressive Tanmay Mishra, who is improving all the time, again frustrated the bowlers with a battling 33 that ended when beaten by the narrowest of margins after a good pick-up and throw by Mashrafe Mortaza. But while there were a few cameos, no-one was able to play the big innings that Kenya's innings simply had to have.
Bangladesh started with positive intent, and Kenya's bowlers were never able to exert any pressure. Their one success came when Peter Ongondo removed Shahriar Nafees, but it was never likely to affect the outcome as Javed Omar and Aftab Ahmed both opened up and clinically dissected weary bowlers. Both reached easy fifties as they added 93 for the second wicket, and the ease with which they overcame a modest target only served to underline the gulf between the sides which had been so evident at Bogra.

That is what happen when there is no control in the board. No interest in the media and no backup in the ICC. I do feel sorry for Kenya, as that could have been our country if we did not got the Test status at that moment.

I couldn't watch the first innings today, why didn't Tikolo play? And did Shahadat give away too many runs?
