Siddikur had a remarkable day today. 7 Birdies out of 11 holes. I can't recall a similar scoreline in any major competition for a long time. Too bad play has been suspended. He suffered in early start yesterday. I hope he does better tomorrow.

I don't want to jinx anything, he's got a chance at reaching one of Golf's Immortal numbers, 7 Holes and 2 Par 5's ... It's very possible.

Nobody has every shot a 59 in the European Tour ever, so Lets hope for some history

Ends -5. Tied for 24. If he hadn't had such a bad day 3, he would have been near the top. But, this is still a great showing. Do consider who #37 is - someone named Mickelson. It's not over yet but Adam Scott seems to have it in the bag unless he double bogeys or something in the final two holes.

Fairytale

Quote:
Mohammad Siddikur was working as a ball boy at Kurmitola Golf Club in Bangladesh. He worked to support his own studies. Currently still attached to Kurmitola Golf Club but is now an honorary member since December 2008 after winning two titles in India.
From Siddikur's profile page.

Siddik ends on a high

Quote:
Siddikur Rahman bagged a handsome $57,900 after his astonishing performance in the fourth and final round of the Barclays Singapore Open on Monday.
Despite a gallant effort in the last round, Siddik finished in the 25th position jointly with six golfers. After resuming the remaining seven holes on Monday morning the only blemish he did was at the fourth hole where he bogeyed for the first time in the last round.
Siddik has now become the highest earning sportsperson in Bangladesh, having already pocketed $3,19,249 (Tk 2.25 crore approx). Siddik has flown to Hong Kong to take part in the $2.5 million UBS Hong Kong Open which gets under way on November 18.
‘I do not play only for the prize money, it is a natural consequence if you play well, I’m just enjoying my game and trying to enhance my skills and learn few things from the world’s best golfers,’ Siddik told reporters.
Siddik remains in the
Top 10 of the Asian Tour’s order of merit, only a few players from the Asian Top 10 made it to the top 30 in the Barclays Singapore Open.

Contrast that attitude to those of some of the losers we send out to represent us on the cricket field and you know why we suck in cricket.
