There is just something about Mashrafee. Legs don't work, still able to pull this off lol.
Sad that his captaincy wasn't rubbed off to our regular modons. Say what you want, but the way he inspires people on the field is in a different league than Shakib or Tamim.

these strategic timeouts are the worst thing ipl has given cricket. completely disrupts the momentum of the game, cricket doesn't work like this..the day these greedy bastards introduce these timeouts in Int T20, I am gona loose my ****
IPL copied some of the formats off of American sports. They started with the skimpy dressed cheer leaders so that certain sections of the fan base could be attracted to feast their eyes on something apart from the cricket.
What next introducing the kiss cam where they play the cheesy song CHUMMA CHUMMA DE DE while the fans lock lips together???
I also dislike this strategic time out malarkey and I think it just allows more ad time.
Haven't been followin this sham tournament much, but since when has Mashrafee started coming down to bat at one down lol? Are the other players THAT bad?
Meanwhile Towhid gets a call-up for the ODI squad......for performances in the BPL...a t20 format

Anti-climatic final - the whole tournament was dominated by local players, yet the final was won by the foreigners.
Anyway, still kudos to Mash for taking his low budget team to the final. This is still an excellent opportunity for him to retire from professional cricket, without taking any further fatal risk on his knees.
Some of the local coaches did well to establish their credential this BPL - Rajin Saleh (Sylhet), Sohel Islam (Rangpur, also the coach of DPL champion Dhanmondi), Shahriar Nafees (Rangpur batting consultant). I would have liked to see SN taking coaching more seriously, lot of young batters could have benefited from his cricketing brain. Even Tamim opted to have coaching sessions with him prior to BPL. But SN is now focusing more on his role as BCB Operations Manager, working under Operations Chairman Jalal Yunus.
I am not impressed with Salahuddin anymore, given how poorly Comilla local batters (besides LKD) did this BPL (Prime Bank didn't do well under him in DPL either). Comilla got away by pouring money on foreigners (USD 30K-34K per match for Rizwan, Moeen, Narine, and Russel each).

I think Rizwan was worth it for CV. Prior to him they were losing games left right and center. Still $30k is a lot of money just for few games.

Not saying foreign players were not worth it. But, in terms of developing local players, especially batters, I don't think Salahuddin can claim any credit this edition. His negative attitude towards local players in the media was also very apparent. I am glad that he has taken himself out of consideration for any BCB coaching position.

Nasir is supposed to be a finisher, while Shanto played sheet anchor for his team - two very different roles. Mash wanted Shanto to bat till 15 overs every match, while Hridoy and Zakir were given license to hit from very first ball. He played ala Tamim role for his team, took them to the final, even helped setting up a competitive total in the final.
As Salahuddin pointed out, after Imad Wasim left, Mash didn't have a quality spinner on his side anymore, and played into Comilla's strength going with all pacers in the final.
