I am old (nearing 40) and hence I guess I am oldschool.
I don't understand when people complain about low-scoring games and difficult pitches.
I grew up watching cricket in a time when edges never flew for sixes. The fields were bigger in general (except may be in NZ). Sixes really meant good shots with good timing.
Cricket for me is more fun to watch when there is a good contest between ball and bat. I never enjoy a 350 chase these days the way I enjoyed the 220 chase in the late 90's. I am enjoying this series because batting is so difficult and long may it continue.
Test cricket for me is the only cricket where you need real skill to score runs these days.

I am over 40 and I too enjoy a good contest between bat and ball. However, these pitches do not appear to offer a fair contest. Instead, they appear to be minefields: unpredictable bounce and haphazard turn. That seems to be why batsmen on both sides are struggling to score even 30 runs at a par SR of 100.
Above all, I am not sure these pitches are useful preparation for the upcoming T20 WC. I am willing to bet that those pitches will be proper belters, as all ICC tournament pitches to be.

agreed..there’s been a calculated move to turn cricket ‘baseball-esque’ by making it a hit-through-line kind of a sport specially by eng and aus…hate it

I think a lot of the BC activity has just moved onto FB, including the BC group which is fairly busy these days.
About the pitches: we're unlikely to be in the group stage with Australia (unless something goes terribly wrong and we are not B1), so do we have a particular obligation to give them Wt20i preparation? But yes, somewhere down the line it would be good to see a successful high scoring chase too.
For now, savoring the victory

Yes, savoring the victory too. And no, we are certainly under no obligation to give the Aussies WT20 prep. I meant that these pitches don't offer us any meaningful prep. Unless, of course, the confidence boost from defeating Australia was all we were looking to get out of this series. In any case, I'm hoping that the two remaining fixtures are played on good wickets and that there's some squad rotation too.

Lot to talk about the performance in this series but anyone else have this feelings that we are feeling a lot safe with mushfik not behind the stumps?
Nurul was great behind the stumps and complemented fizz in the last over a lot. I would not have felt this safe with mushy behind the stumps

Hi everyone.
Hope u guys are doing well.
Salam!
Big congratulations to BD, the tigers.
Ryad, Shoriful & Mustafiz were amazing.
Of course I want a Banglawash but what I want even more is a game where we score or chase BIG.
Soumya gone, I don't understand this guy, more than five years of international cricket but still not settled as a batsman.

shakib is genuinely struggling with his timing…ominous sign if the trend continues on better pitches

The pitch is so bad, it will be wrong to judge any player on it, be it Soumya or Shakib. Spinners who are being unplayable here may very well be taken to cleaners during T20I WC.

I did not see the match until quite late as I went out shopping to grab some Pakistani mangoes as the mango season is almost over!
Looking at the highlights and the scorecard, I cannot understand what happened?
Run rate 8 silo prothomey ar tarpor sheshey giye matro 104?
Shakib ek overey pachat 6 dilo? Ar tarpor Mammu abar takey namalo?
Kisui vujlam na.
Was our team being unprofessional again?

Lol, serves them right for sending a crappy team. Atleast now they know that their second string team vs BD depleted team on bd soil is not much of a competition. Congrats to the boys but it will be a completely different ball game against other teams in the T20 WC.

4-1 isn't bad. Would have loved if they could make it 5-0. I won't be judging the performance of any players because batting was tough in this pitch. We definitely had better spinners and our bowling was more suited for these pitches.

I don't think we can make too many changes to this side either. Maybe one or two but let's be honest this team is all we have for now. However, I want to see more of players like Munim in the domestics and what they are doing. Actually, I don't mind changes in the opening since we really haven't had good starts in the t20s so far. I have no idea if we will be playing T20Is or ODIs against NZ. But looking forward to that one.
