I don't think a number 11s batting capability in ODIs justifies the sidelining of the 2nd best pacer at the moment after Mash.

Guys, it's about managing the work load. Do we want Rubel to become another Mash? He just came off a big injury. You think it would be wise to just overbowl him again so he can get injured again? Cycling pacers is important. It'll keep them fresh. Bowling pace is hard work and the key is to manage their workloads so they don't get injured as much.

Ya, it's very important to take care of the pacers. I think he has had some rest after the test matches. He should be coming in for the 3rd ODI and Mash should be replaced by Shafi/SRK/Nazmul/Taskin in the 4 th ODI onwards. I don't think Mash should play so many matches at a stretch...

If we end up winning the 3rd ODI, then we can strongly consider resting Mash for the 4th and 5th ODI's. I haven't been really worried about Mash's workload so far though. He bowled just 15 overs so far. Rubel, on the other hand, has bowled 70 overs in this series. So resting Rubel after that much workload was a must.

My be they select Sunny intead and start Shohag from one end like 2nd ODO.
If you ask me, I would rather see Zia..he could be handy from 35th over+. The way he hits with so much power....he could be our Afridi/Abdur Razzak type of player.

I agree about the workload. However, it's also a fact that the more you bowl in maches, the better you get. Like we see with Mash as he seems to be getting his rhythm back and how Rubel was bowling better as the innings progressed. They need to get their groove back, how and what to bowl in certain situations, if you play enough sometimes your body takes action before you have had time to think due to the match practices. If we were a top 8 team who play a lot of games, resting and shifting of workload is crucial but since we play precious few matches, giving your main players a go so they can hone their technique is more important. A day off and good sleep, proper diet is enough of a rest.

Very sensible point you pointed out there. I think Rubel needs to be rested more. He can turn out to be a wonderful prospect for us in the future.

Rubel is available for selection for the 3rd ODI, right? Getting mixed information about him being injured and what not...
Rubel (if selected) might turn out to be the most expensive bowler, but I'd still pick him over Zia & Sunny...

regarding Rubel, I don't think was about giving him rest, he is an international cricketer and he wasn't used excessively in test match anyway.
I am glad that Abul had a good first match and that we did not need him to do well in the second match.

He became joghonno because of Samuel, and Samuel was dropped my Mushi twice. So the joghonno may not had happened had Mushi got Samuels out in one of the balls. Then Rubel would be a hero for getting both the openers middle stump. One of them was the best of the WORLD.

Coincidentally, Rubels (brain fart) last overs were the prime cause of two losses in this series (4th ODI and this T20. In both games, one single over took the game away from us.

Can't disagree with that. Mushy could have avoided bowling him that time though, since the same thing happened few days back.

Can't blame Rubel, even the slinger Malinga got hammered by Samuels. If you want to blame someone, blame Rahim for not taking those catches of Samuels and both Tamim and Mahmudullah for not putting away those easy full tosses.

Mushy could have been wise with the bowling changes. It's not as if he didn't see Rubel getting hammered in the death overs. Could have arranged the bowling changes in such a way that the best bowlers on the field Shafiul or Zia has one left to bowl the final over and Rubel finishing off the 17th or 19th over.
Samuels in that form was too good for Malinga so it's no surprise he took Rubel to the cleaners today. He needs to work hard on nailing those yorkers under pressure
