Batting first to set a huge target and then bowling Ireland out cheaply would do wonders for our NRR, but I doubt that's going to happen on a pitch like this.

Here are the two prematch articles from Cricinfo
Preview from Dileep Premadjhnasdj (?). Did any of you guys wonder whether the Cricinfo people just chose the resume with the longest name? Cuz it definitely wasnt talent
Improvement is the key - Shahriar from AFP

Did u guys saw the cricinfo preview? It pissed me off. He made it sounded like the position of 7th and 8th place are fixed between Bangladesh and Ireland and this game will decide who gets what. Not only that he never mentioned that we can still make it to the semis.

we have to bat first even if it is difficult to bat first because otherwise we don't have any shot at boosting our NRR...

i know we prolly won't make the semis - too many things outta our control - but we should still play as if we can...

otherwise its just the "honoroble loss" mentality - just slightly different.

i'd rather lose to ireland trying to make the semis than beating them by chasing and not having a shot because of our NRR...

Asaad bhai, you're right. I wasn't thinking that way. But deep down, when we say "we made it till here, that's good enough", it is another of those "honorable loss" mentality. I was one of them...so chorry

But hey, we should win now

Lets go Tigersssssssss

It kinda pissed me off too....Not surprising though, its from Dileep Premachandan(?). Hes long been a - shall we say - "basher" of Bangladesh cricket. Do any of you guys remember his article "In the name of God, go" ? Just remembered it today. He was actually one of the first from Cricinfo to really bash us...
