Pitch ll be cracked at 4 n 5. So 370 wud be a good score. Huge blunder of 5 lefty at top order..we can see why they cant???
Our bd think tanks were never smart n very stereotype. Sometimes it's better to do horses for courses. I believe miraz ll be the key.

I would be happy with a 300+ score.
Didn't look like getting 220/240 at one stage!
300 is like a par score here. Will be competitive fight!
Expecting Australia to collapse in one of their innings.

Good 2 see Khawajah dropped,he should never have toured.
Played no cricket since january,2nd he can't play spin.
Good to see Cartwright get a spell.
We must bowl Bangladesh for under 300 to have a chance.

^^Easy-peasy...A ton and some more from Mushfiq and a 60-70 from Nasir, while a cool 35 from Miraz will be good enough. Some big hitting from Taijul will also be handy...hope for the best!!

It's a road. Hardly any bounce, hardly any turn.
Lyon bowled very well in the conditions, as did Cummins.

So despite saying no and all the associated bravado in the press conference, we did ultimately go for a flat pitch and a draw in this test

I hope we can add 100 more runs, then rest will be bonus. If we score 400 and can get rid of Warner, Smith, match is ours
Miraz will destroy Aussie. Miraz and taijul

I just hope this is not the typical Chittagong pitch that becomes better for batting as the time progresses. Don't know whose idea it was to make this pitch, but I don't think our players expected this. Miss communication?

400 is there for the taking. Ripe.
Perfect opportunity to stamp authority over these hapless Aussies(sorry brockley).

Let me guess Athar will come in and start chirping "For now Bangladesh would like to bat as long as possible" and similar VAGUE goals, when ideally you really need to have a plan in mind and check off the following milestones reaching each subgoal and just bat once:
-290
-300
-320
-350
-375
-380
-400
-420
-450+ Enough
If Australia were in our shoes, they'd shoot for 400 and bowl us out twice. This is how grandmasters think.

While you do need to see both sides bat to make a judgement on the pitch, it did look like a 350-400 pitch.
Having said that, the pitch appeared to be a bit two paced, at least earlier part of the day. That is why, some of our batters were finding it difficult to bat. If this holds true in the coming days, then we should be in the game with anything over 300.

All depends on how our bowlers and Australian batters adjust.
From Australian batte'rs perspective, this is a pitch relatively easy to survive if one plays straight and inclined to play front-foot whenever possible. But then, this is also a pitch that would be difficult to score rapidly. You would be forcing the issue at your own peril. This means players like Renshaw, who has a big reach and prefers to play forward and straight, has a great chance to score big. Warner, on the other hand, would need to adjust his game to succeed in this pitch.
Our bowlers need to bowl straight. More importantly, they must not bowl short. Varying the pace while maintaining a good length and doing that consistently over a long period would be the key. We have to frustrate the batsman out. This is also a great pitch for Fiz in theory if he can manage to bring 50% of his old self. I also think Nasir will be a real handful with low-arm sling-ish action. He will get lot of drift here making his arm bowl as lethal as anybody's. I hope Mushfiq does not completely forget about him. Also, I would like to see Mominul bowl at some point even if it is only for a 2/3 over spell. He was, back in the day, a very decent left armer; he is very different from Shak or Taijul in that he flights the bowl a bit more and bowls a bit slower.

what I took from watching day 1 is that this pitch is slow, means its hard to score on this pitch but its not a bowlers pitch. you need to toil hard to get wks here
Aus did well 1st day
