Funny thing..currently shakib is now ranked 2 in all formats! and in all 3 cases number 1 isn't that far away from him..He is truly the benchmark to beat in AR rankings

Most definitely shakib will. He is a fighter.

The last allrounder from West Indies to be ranked #1 was Sir Garry Sobers!

Finally found a stable opening pair in Campbell and Kraigg?

Maybe. They have been consistent in all 3 innings of this series so far.

126/1 in reply to mediocre 1st innings score by England. I'll take that any day.
Now, the plan is to dig in and not let the pressure off England.

Rally. Rally round the West Indies

Well particularly not the same team.

In the BD series, these guys were not in the test team: Jason Holder, John Campbell, Darren Bravo, Alzarri Joseph.

Shannon Gabriel played (1/2) matches

Now Holder is suspended for the last game.

You working with a four man pace attack...expect the over rate to be sub-15 overs

You should know the difference between test and ODI. Don’t be like BD selectors, typical.

This is test.

England will win the world cup. (Which is in ODI’s).

Two different things.

Huge congrats akelmalp bhai ! logged in after ages to share my happiness at this resurgence of Windies cricket !

one of the rare series not involving India I have followed religiously in a long time. loving the "4 horsemen of the acocalypse v2.0" led by a talismanic captain. things are looking up for world cricket if windies keeps this up.

correction, every decent team is good at home. unfortunately even that was not a given for WI for the last few years.

I feel they are on the cusp of resurgance. the performance in this series was commanding, and mind you this ain't a half bad english side. there are mitigating factors for that 2-0 loss in BD; they had a couple of gun players missing. without their talismanic captain, they are a far worse side.
also, in this series so far their pace attack hunted as a pack of 4. you could literally see the mental stress of england batsman as they had to counter over after over of hostile pace bowling with no respite. (check video of ben stokes' batting in 2nd innings ) take a couple of those out and attack becomes much weaker. and playing in BD is not a walk in the park for any team that doesn't play spin really well, nor have the spinners to fight BD's spinners.
anywhere that is not so spin friendly though, i.e outside the sub-continent, this attack will make life uneasy for opposition batsmen. they might still not have the batting skills to win series but they will win matches on their good day, as they have shown in england, sri lanka & UAE.

they have had the correct pieces of the puzzle for the last couple of years but this is the time I think it has started falling into place in terms of team combination, captaincy & overall as an unit.
they still need a good spinner and batting line up to have more self belief and be consistent.

Yea I know the difference brother, but you are assuming that it would make a difference.

You are smart enough to know that when the sun rises 2-0 and it’s a beat down, 50 overs isn’t going to save your second motherland.

It’s coming. It’s only a matter of time. You will still in here in another week or two and you will see what everybody already knows will happen in this series

Very good to see WI team coming back in Tests at least. They have won Tests in England, UAE, and now crushed a decent England side 2-0. They had not even achieved that in the 15 years from 2000-2015.

This also means they could become a dangerous ODI side in the near future.

BD was missing Tamim as well. No amount of gun players can overturn an innings and 200 run loss like Windies suffered in Mirpur. Even a Holder 300 not out would merely made the match even stevens leaving BD to chase 200-250 to win the game or something.

Apart from India, no team is competitive across conditions. And even competitive India lost 2-1 and 4-1 in SA and England.

England, SA, Australia, NZ cannot play spin at all. They are worse at playing spin than Asian teams are at playing pace and bounce.

there were no hidden factors..WI were just crap in that series..BD was missing tamim, WI missing holder is equivalent to BD missing tamim so that evened it out. Just like WI pacers currently hunting the pom poms in packs of 4, BD spinners hunted the windies in packs of 4. WI just had no answer to that and holder wouldn't have mattered at all.

I'm just loving the fact that WI is beating the s*** out of the Englishmen. However, if it negatively affects their ODI side, Indians would become very happy during the WC.

are you guys not reading my post or something ?

WI are inherently bad at sub-continental conditions, that is what I am saying as well. most sub-continental teams would be too good for WI (although they did get a win against pak). But I think you guys haven't watched the WI-Eng series because you are underestimating how important holder is to this team. not just as a player, but as a leader.
he's far more important to WI than tamim is to BD. the correct comparison would be tamim + mash combined.
take the last few tours to asia for WI, holder is the difference between a fighting WI and an abject surrender. in India and BD there was no holder, both ended 0-2 against them. In UAE against pakistan it was 1-2. and both those pakistan wins could have gone the other way, especially the 1st test.
