I was personally grieved when Ashraful was asked to leave the hotel. It was the management's responsibility to make selection clear. The coach didn't know and Ash followed orders. It was a lack of class by management.

I like seeing an Ashraful in control of his game. But it seems like he is struggling for a long while.
He is 27 years old, and still has time to shine. I hope that he has a good manager to run his business, and can simply concentrate on his batting. It is for him to decide if he wants to be a bowler or a batsman. He can do both if he wants. Then concentrate whole heartedly on his game, awithout any outside influence. It has become hard for him to be incognito, people do follow him - be it for right or wrong reasons. Maybe he should go to training to another country, settle his mind - and come back strong.

and as far as i can remember he became a wonder boy in under 16 cricket in 2000..scored 2 back 2 back 100s vs pak and Sl team(i can be wrong, i was a little kid back then dont remember much but he played really well in an under 16 tournament with sl and pak)...he was selected as a batsman not a leg spinner..even so what he came as a leg spinner..Sourav ganguly tried fast bowling 1st

he was picked in the bd intl team as a spinner who could bat. ofcourse you could hope that he bat like the was he batted against murali. but by you i mean bd people(officials) who wanted to make him ZM and hence made him bat slow and what not. he was a poor mans afridi and even afridi could not be fixed to this day (even ZM tried it). but Afridi makes runs here and there just like ash used to do. but then we wanted make him play 4 down cause he played 100+ games and he has 100+ experience... that is my objection. Of course we could hope but when he failed we can't/should not say he is nothing etc etc... anyway tons of talk has been done on this no point talk anymore.

Pointless thread.

We are grateful to Ash for his contribution to Bangladesh cricket. That doesn't mean he needs to be given a free pass to the team forever.

Tamim was rush there but is it really worth to make ashraful hero here? Tamim is some kind of foolish. It doesn't matter what he does cause he is just a stupid who does not want to grow up. But um sure Bpl will give us some hard n tough players like nasir or shakib sothat we may not need to rely on these sissies like ash or tamim.

Ashraful is amongst the luckiest cricketers on Earth. Enough said.

আরেকটি অর্থহীণ আশরাফুলিয় সুতা।
আসলে আমরা সবাই মনে হয় আশরাফুলের ব্যাপারে অবসেস্ট...

Once upon a time Ash was "chokher moni", now he is "gondho jukto mol" !!!

Not that I am surprised, or unhappy - part of our life I guess?

well said kalpurush da. i had so many arguments with friends regarding this and the bottom line i always said, Ashraful is the best batsman Bangladesh has ever had. He will always remain my favorite player no matter what he scores or he is out of the national team. Its our bad luck that team management and others didn't let him grow mentally and his own games. But i believe he will come back strong very soon.

Regarding Ash, neither anyone here is derogating his contribution to BD's Cricket nor anyone refusing the fact that he is our one the most talented batsmen. But this one is also true that, Ash himself equally responsible for his downfall. He has got many chances than any other past cricketers has but he failed to capitalize those.

Look at Shakib. He is also a product of Bangladesh. Both are talented players. Now compare Shakib and Ash. Shakib has built a great position for himself and for Bangladesh too. Just within couple of years, he has become #1 all rounder in both ODI and Test. Moreover, Shakib had always a tough relationship among board officials and media. Despite that he kept performing and left no chances for critics to point out his performance. Will you still say that বাংলাদেশে যেন আর কোন আশরাফুলের জন্ম না হয়

baah!! Naimul bhai!! Dekhe bhaloi laglo....apnar mukhe Shakib-er proshongsha....

You can blame infrastructure, lack of quality domestic matches all you want...but the truth of the matter is, the individual takes the greater part of the blame for his own failure.

we dont hate ashraful time has changed we also need to change and adapt ourselves he got chances to play the coaches like dav whatmore made him better player so dont blame it on coaches about batting grip etc.. its his responsibility to score runs.. now if ashraful is out everyone claps.. we BD people dont have the world class talents like sachin ponting, lara,,,we just dont have it.. its a samll country and no cricket fascility so dont expect much ..
