Why Indian Flag hyperlinked with Bangladesh High Commission in Delhi? Isn't it odd? Could have similar Wikipedia link!

Nothing wrong with shamiyana... adds a local touch IMO. But why the blue and white colors? and not our traditional chokra-bokra orange-red-green etc.?

That's called self-criticism. Something that many Indian fans lack.

I don't mind the "shamiyana", but those bamboo sticks really look ugly. Otherwise the stadium is looking good already, especially the ground.

Kumble will be the difference as obvious so will be the superstar batsmen(Sachin,Dada, RD etc.) even Dhoni is getting is form back. This will be an acid test for us. We have to play really hard to make this game a draw.

Ok, guys..heres some predictions:

1.Who will win? Hmm..lemmee see: ubu dosh kuri nari bhuri chingri macher chochori... yes, got it..It will be just like the last AUS-BAN series. After failing to grip the wining initiative and gloating with all the 'positives', BD lost heavily in the 2nd test. With no rain in sight and the probability thatShakib be dropped..BD will (naaharbolte parchi na ..tears). Some one as inferior as Dizzy Gillespie will score a century..adding tothe throes

2. Positives from the series?: Wow..lots of them. We found thatMash can bat better (not slog..pure bat) than many others. Hablu can keep up with RRR (during the first 10 overs though), Pilot is still junk, ,,

3. Will Habla retire?: Yeah, right..

In any case..GO TIGERS!!

India has left VRV Singh out of the declared XII.

Uncapped Rajesh Powar and Ishant Sharma are include. I think Ishant Sharma will make his debut in Test arena.

Another overhyped Indian pacer. Lets see what he can do.

A parmanent shade/overhead for the stands is in the plans for Mirpur stadium. Hopefully before 2011 WC openning ceremony those will be in place.

wish all the best to BD team.

For some reason I am having a good feeling before the game. May be, just may be if we field positively (settings and effort) we can win the series even if we bat second.

Ha ha...very well said..
we do indeed need to get out of the "shamiyana" and "bamboo" tradition...
guess bamboo is in the heart of our culture...

the stadium looks simply awsome...
but one little complain from me..
i always thought the Mecca of our Cricket should have had a capacity close to atleast 75,000 or more...

Dhaka is a mega city of over 10 million people and cricket is our number 1 game.
It can draw much much more crowd on a decent day of cricket.

On the match note..

I believe this will be our "first" true test victory.
That is against a more established nation.

Current Indian team might have few big names, but i think we can close the gap and play for the win.

GO the Tigers!!
Time to give Whatmore his best farewell gift!

hmmm! looking at the stats he bowled fairly well. better than Zaheer ofcourse. Especially Mash's wicket.

Zaheer 87/1 - 22 overs 1 maiden
VRV 70/3 - 20.2 overs 6 maidens

Well, the 2nd test includes Tusher Imran and Md. Sharif. But with the performance we had on the 1st test, I am just curious who they will replace? Obviously, Bashar is not going to be out. I can only see Saqibul making way for Tusher as both of them can ball as well but Saqib played a nervous knock in the middle. With Shahadat returning in form, Enamul still needed,,, I dont know who will make the way for the couple but I suspect they may leave the original team intact..

It would be a crime to leave Sakib - Shahadat out. Shahadat was in form all this time. In ODIs you can't get wickets and would leak runs if you bowl short balls. That is his game with occational yorker.

Why is there speculations about dropping Sakib? He is the best batsman we have right now. Not every one scores a century in thei debut match in test. But they can go on to be a great batsman in the end.

Depending on the pitch, Sharif can replace Enamul Jnr. But at this time, I don't see any place for Tushar.

True depending on pitch Sharif should be used instead of Jr.
it's sad that Tushar can not be used to replace any of our 'batsmen'.

Unfortunately, Tushar always fails at the national arena, but performs great for A team. Every time he is out of the national team, everyone starts a huge argument about including him in the national team. But then he goes out in the middle and fails. I suspect, he just cannot take the pressure.

i dont argue...just consider the situation of sakib now...if selectors drop sakib in 2nd test..everbody will tell that sakib should get chance in another 4/5 test although he failed to show characteristics of test nature...BUT if tushar has been given a chance only for one match and fails..everbody will say that he must be dropped but few people will say that he should be given more chance to prove himself not only one match...I see here is the difference...

sakib is a reliable 1st down/ 2nd down batsman. on the other hand, nafees is an unrelaeble opener. There is only two places for opener, but a batsman like sakib has 6 places to bat for. he is a very good bowler as well, don't forget that.

Good to know, that india is no more able to threaten BD with their cricket. Speaks a lot for itself.

Sakib should not be dropped, may be he was a little nerveous for his debut. He batted only one innings. I think, indians are not playing the pacers well, so we can include one more pacer in place of enamul jr.
