Say NO to Javed Omor!!!!!!!

Please no more JO. We had enough of him. We don't need any batsman who eats loads of ball and waste all the opportunities. I rather pick SN. You guys are really impatient, only few matches and you have gone mad.

Give him some time, I know he didn't do well but he was one of the leading run scorer in 2006.

I have no clue what to do with our bowlers as we have too many SLA and NZ already know about it..Their team is very balanced and we will loose this match badly just because of our batsmen and a good thrid seamer/thrid spinner.
This sounds more realistic. BD needs to be more innovative and aggressive to beat NZ.

Bashar has to come in numer 3 and let Aftab come in number 6. Our toporder has to score runs. Forget about powerplay. Lets get some partnership going first.

Why JO???? Oh my God...this can't be happening!!!

Quote:
ST. JOHN’S: Opening batsman Shahriar Nafees Ahmed was left out due to poor form as Bangladesh named 12 for tomorrow’s Super Eight match against New Zealand.

Nafees, who is going through a lean patch, has had a sequence of 2,0,12 and 1 in four matches in the World Cup. The Tigers have drafted in opener Javed Omer and fast bowler Shahadat Hossain Rajib in the 12. Javed is set to play his first World Cup game.

Paceman Tapash Baishya, who had sprained his ankle during the match against Australia on Saturday, did not practice on Sunday but team physio Paul Close was confident that Baishya would recover soon.

“We have received the X-ray report and it has confirmed that there was no fracture. He will undergo an aggressive rehabilitation programme and our target is to get him fit before the match against South Africa,” said Close. Syed Rasel, the left-arm paceman comes in for Baishya. Bangladesh meet South Africa in their third fixture of the Super Eight stage in Guyana on April 7.

Bangladesh’s training plans had to be rearranged for the second time in three days after the Tigers were told that the practice wickets at the Sir Vivian Richards Ground were not fit for use.

The Bangladesh team had already reached the venue and had just started their warm-ups when a grounds staff informed them about the practice pitches adjacent to the ground being ‘wet’. It came as a surprise as there was no rain yesterday and today.

The Tigers then traveled to the alternative facility, the Antigua Recreation Ground, and trained there.

Still smarting from the 10-wicket loss to Australia, Tigers captain Habibul Bashar said there were areas which needed to improve.

“Obviously the opening batting is one. The loss to Australia was disappointing in the sense that we could have done better. We don’t play that many 20-20 games and it was basically a similar match,” said Bashar.

Bashar believed his side can be competitive against New Zealand.

“They are well ahead of us in world ranking and are a big team. If you ask about the prospects then New Zealand are odds on favourites. However, one-day cricket doesn’t necessarily follow that norm. If we can play to our potential then I don’t see any reason why we can not push that opposition. We have already proved that in the warm-up game against them where they played nine batsmen and still lost to us,” said Bashar.

BANGLADESH (12): Habibul Bashar (Captain), Tamim Iqbal, Javed Omer, Aftab Ahmed, Shakib Al Hasan, Mohammad Ashraful, Mushfiqur Rahim (Wicketkeeper), Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Mohammed Rafique, Abdur Razzak, Syed Rasel, Shahadat Hossain Rajib.

By the way, it looks like absolute poor management by the authorities. Re-quoting here:

why jo i dont understand, they should have stayed with nafees, we need to persist with our player, we have a good combination of players, playing in the correct and appropriate positions, and they should be persisted with, look at the aussies, hussey is not performing yet they still play him and there are countless examples of this in other teams.

JO doing good means, 30 runs from 90 balls and end all probability of wining.
