99 : First qualification to WC
03 : Ranked 10th in ODI
07 : Ranked 9 by surpassing ZIM
11 : Ranked 8 by surpassing WI
Next target : NZ and PAK. Although we're not comfortably clear of WI yet.

If we lose against India.... We lose the number 8 ranking, even more reason to win.

Congrats to the Team, but I would really celebrate if we beat WI in this WC.
For BD, 8th is something great, because 8 seems to be the catch word of ICC for all sorts of things. Like fixture of WC, first eight is divided first. For two tier again first 8, for relegation/Minnow tag after 8th spot .. etc etc. Considering our threats from the critics/ICC reorg formulas, if we can confirm 8th position & hold on to it with a lead from WI, we will enter permanently in elite G8. That's an achievement by itself and bigger than anything at this moment.

What happens if WI lose quite a few matches in the WC, or for that matter get knocked out and do not progress to the QF?

BD has to win many matches in 2011 in order to remain at No 8.

This is something we all should be very proud of. We're actually now #8 in ODIs!! It has taken a long long time to reach it but we have finally made it. We should definitely credit ourselves for winning some key games. It was because of us improving and the WI on a decline that has helped us but it's definitely been more of us. Our next target now is the #7 spot which NZ occupies now and it shouldn't take too long to get there since NZ is on a decline now as well. Now let's hope we really perform well in the WC and keep up the good work!!

We should now focus on cementing this position and closing the gap between us and the Kiwis and hopefully taking the 7th ranking by the end of the year.

Is that what I have to look forward to? My daughter just turned teen yesterday. Your father has my sympathies. Sigh.
On topic: let's hope the next ranking move (upwards of course) does not take 4 years.

They need even numbers. it will be very difficult to make 4/6, instead they might go for G10 :-)
